FYI, Ted Kennedy served in the Army.

Yea, I figured it couldn't have been the navy.

Ba-da-bing!

Seriously, whenever someone brings up George W. Bush never working a day in his life and having his family get him everything, do these same someone's think the same thing about Ted Kennedy?

Just wonderin' is all.

George spent his life losing money and running from responsibility then he got elected to office. Ted has spent his life moving the liberal agenda forward (which to me is good) and except for drinking and Chappaquidick (sp) he's still doing his best. But then you think George is too. You have a right to your opinion, so do I.

Enough with the crap. You believe in social issues? You know there are people in this country homeless and starving? Why the hell aren't you giving up your luxuries like internet access and donating that money to help!

Come on, put up or shut up!
Actually I do donate LOTs of money to charitable organizations and worthy causes. As a matter of fact one of the things I do is coordinate benefits for environmental causes. I also help raise money for organizations in South America and here at home. Put up or shut up richie. The recruiting office should be open by 9:00 a.m. Do you enjoy your crow with or without feathers?

Ted spent his life spending other's money and denying responsibility while in office. Sounds like a liberal agenda to me.

Why are you dodging the issue? Apparently you still have the luxury of the internet access you're using. Probably that expensive broadband too. That money every month sure could help some folks.

Oh wait, that's right. You want other's to pony up with their money. Oh you'll pony up a little, as long as it doesn't really affect your lifestyle.

Hypocrite.

Well, as long as you are paying to access the internet or patronizing Disney, I would contend you are not doing enough. So, when is your vacation money and your monthly internet access fees going to start going to the less fortunate?

Good thing he didn't join the Navy. What with all that water everywhere.

LOL :rotfl: *cough* Chappaquiddick *cough* :D

Does he need to? No, I don't think so.

I have a simple plan to bring an end to the troop shortage in Iraq. You voted for him, you go.

You feel strongly enough to defend this war? Do it with a gun and your un-armored body.

Don't worry! If you loose a limb (likely) you'll get to take part in those wonderful social programs Democrats have put together throughout the years. ;)

Well, except that plan would not be able to be executed b/c we vote by secret ballot in this country.

Additionally--there are many people who don't work in the military but do have jobs that make it conducive (sp?) for the military to be able to do their jobs.

Off topic, but who cares....

Just watching the coverage of the coronation and they say the stands for the parade are half empty....

What a surprise!

No surprise at all...they were charging a fortune for the bleachers--and left nearly any remaining space for people who didn't want to spend $$$$ to watch a parade.

Either that or they had the same secure the perimeter logic as they did the inaugural ceremony--keep him safe by keeping everyone out.

They did however leave room for protesting groups which, I think was fair to do.

I'm going to give this the benefit of the doubt and say it is FREEZING outside - I don't care how much I liked or disliked the guy - I freeze my behind off for no one.......except maybe the Mardi Gras parade, I sure do like beads ;)

We were out last night at the celebration of freedom in 24 degree weather....today felt downright balmy in comparison. It think it was more the $$$ but the news coverage did not cover that part of the story.

My dad and step-mom did say that they had even more stands than in previous inaugurations and they are all ticketed seating.

I can be quite fun when I'm drinking Hurricanes! :) Actually I am actually a really nice person - I think I'm going to take a break from these boards for awhile because I really don't like who I've become with these political threads. Feels like we are constantly talking circles with the same people over and over and over again and to be honest no one is going to change their minds, and everyone will continue to think they are right and we are wrong and vice versa. I'm just tired of it. I'm going go take a hot bubble bath and drink some red wine and focus on positive things like Barack Obama.

Hope you have a good evening...I oppose your opinions but you sure do come across very well with intelligent, thought provoking commentary and some pretty darn good rebuttals.

Or a more blunt way to describe Ted is an increasingly partisan drunk who killed an innocent woman.

I believe Senator Kennedy used to drink as did President Bush. And didn't Mrs. Bush kill an innocent young man in an auto accident?

But she didn't try to cover it up or not take responsibilty for it. I also don't think she fled the scence and left the person to die.
