Selling a Timeshare?

Hello fellow DISers!

I'm hoping to get some information here... My DH and I bought a timeshare back in 2000 (not Disney ) and now we want to sell it to help pay off some credit card debt. Has anyone ever sold a timeshare? If so, do you have any companies that you can recommend that we might list ours through? Also, can you give me some idea of how this process works? Is it just like selling a house?

I would suggest that you go to www.tug2.net and get some info there. I think you will be dismayed to find out how little you will get for a timeshare resale. Only DVC seems to retain much value.

If you can't resell it, you can rent it to at least cover your yearly fees.

Good luck. Timeshares are increasing in popularity but the sale price sometimes is as low as .05% of the original purchase price depending upon the location. Check out what the timeshare you own is going for and then price it below those prices for a quicker sale.
