Segway Tour

The Epcot one costs $80+ if you have AAA. My husband really enjoyed this tour. I had to change the dates of our trip and didn't have trouble rebooking the tour in June.

Woo Hoo!
:woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo:

I just made my reservation for the 8:30 tour on November 29th - our 11th anniversary!!

DH will be soooooo surprised:cool1: !

tebi: couldn't help but notice that you're from A'vl -- have you done any of the Segway tours here yet (Arboretum, downtown, Biltmore)? Segways are great fun. My first was the one at Epcot, and it was long without quite enough rest stops for me -- I thoroughly loved it, but my feet, legs and back were feeling it before we got back (I'm gettin's kind of old and wimpy, I guess). That was my birthday present to myself, and it was a fun treat, even tho it got a bit tiring for me. It's really easy to get the hang of riding it, but it does test some different muscles some how. The NC Arboretum has a great tour -- and it's much cheaper, esp if you're a member, and they let you get off and "rest" a bit more, which was a help for me. Of course, it's a whole different visual experience. The tour at Epcot has more stringent "rules" also.

I actually live in Candler, but I didn't even know that there were tours around here! We love the Arboretum - can't believe I missed that on my last visit with DS! Thanks for the info - I'll have to check them out!

I didn't know there was a Segway tour at Wilderness -- which one did you end up reserving?

(I'm in Enka/Candler fire district -- near Avl city line, up behind Cracker Barrel).

Happy Anniversary -- have a wonderful trip!

Ended up going with the EPCOT one. I think DH will like it better.

Gotta love the CB! My DS' favorite place to eat (I think it's because of all the goodies in the Old Country Store more so than the food!) We actually are up on Pisgah Hwy in the boonies!

Thanks for the well wishes!

I booked the Segway today for 12/10. I was hoping to get an early time but all that was left was 9:30...is this an OK time??? I was hoping to be in WS while there was no one there.

Any thoughts?

At the beginning of your tour, you will be alone. But WS opens at 11am, and so for the last half hour there will be people there.

Right...will that take away from the experience? If so, then maybe I will wait to do it another time.

Some people prefer the second tour BECAUSE they get to be the COOLEST THING IN WORLD SHOWCASE! All the people oohing and aahing. I bet that is fun in and of itself!

Well I guess it would be cool to feel like a celebrity for a few moments!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Geez, now I fee like I need to wear something extra special that day!!;)

Didn't someone say you have a little more freedom to move with no one there, but when it's open you have to ride in a single line?

Yes, I said that. For the first half hour you will be able to ride freely. Once guests are there, you will have to travel in a line the final half hour.
