Do they search all bags and purses going into the parks?

How long does this take?

Is there an "Express" line if you do not have any backpacks, etc.?

yes, they do have an x-press line. the search of the bags depends on the length of the line, but I would estimate about 15 secs. to 30 secs. per bag. That is, if all of the pouches/zippers are open already.

Yes, they do check all bags/backpacks/purses going into the park. The process goes faster if you have your bags unzipped/ready to show before you reach the front of the line.

Some of the parks have a line for "Guests without Bags" (AK for sure, and I believe MGM), as the security checkpoint is out in front of the turnstyles by a good distance, but at some of the parks (Epcot for sure, and I believe MK) the security guard is standing right in front of the turnstyles, and there's really no way to avoid the delay while they check the people in front of you, even if you don't have any bags.

It usually takes between 1 - 5 minutes depending on what time you get there.

They were doing this the last time we went, I am glad that they started checking what is going into the parks. I feel safer knowing that they are looking out for suspicious things.

MK has an area where guest without bags can go right through.

The area for 'No Bags' at MK is right between the left and right security areas--kind of right at the point heading towards the giant Mickey landscaping area.
