Security in the parks

I am not asking this out of fear from the potential terroist attacks or anything like that, but does WDW have ARMED undercover security and or police that patrol the parks, inside the parks? Both my DH and I are in law enforcement careers and it has always been a question I've had, but never known who to ask.
(Besides the fact that I am desperately trying to get him to move to Celebration....a potential job, perhaps?) I apologize if this question gets some poeple upset, but it would only make sense, unfortuately, in today's society. Anyone know for sure?

I do not know for sure... but I would not be surprised if they do (especially in these times) since I do believe they have their own police/security department.....Maybe someone else knows for sure..

my understanding is no..at least not in the traditional sense...the 'standard issue' security CM's do not carry weapons...however there are 'special response' teams of security personnel who work with (on property) county,state and federal law enforcement who are armed and can "appear" anywhere in any of the parks quicker than you can say 'bob's my uncle'.

WDW security does not carry weapons, but Orange and Osceola County deputies are on hand across property (you will probably see several during your stay). Visible security is a much larger presence now, and there is alot that you won't see... and that's the idea.
