If you had Wings was one of my favorites! Remember it well from my childhood years. Remember those Swan Boats also by the castle - had forgotten about those. Where was the ride 20,000 Leagues located? I remember the ride, just don't remember where where it was.
We were also told that the Spaceship Earth sphere would fit into the aquarium during our Dolphins in Depth tour
I can't believe I have something that no one has shared yet! (I think... my brain is numb after reading 42 pages!) If you go inside the tree at Pooh's 100 Acre Wood in Magic Kingdom, you can see a small nautilus carved above the door frame in tribute to the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride which was there previouslyHere's a pic of it from 2005:

That is very interesting! Those dueling ghosts are my favorite from the ballroom sceneawesome thread!
Here be mine
In the ballroom scene in the HM the pictures that are shooting at each other are modeled after two of the AA's in POTC.
I'm actually really surprised that no one has posted this one yet![]()
This is no longer true. Believe me. I rode more times than imaginable this summer, and I now know every detail of the ride! When your online for Peter Pan's Flight in WDW if you look at the wall behind the boats people are boarding you can see a little Tinkerbell hanging from a wire fly back and forth. I can't recall seeing her recently though, is she gone?
I can't confirm or deny the speed, but I've often thought the same. I've actually thought a lot about it, too, and I feel that it was darker inside years ago, and the darkness seemed to make the ride feel faster, just my opinion. But as a kid I just remember how dark it was, and not being able to see the track AT ALL. The last few times we were on it I could easily see the track the entire time.
I think the dark is what makes Space Mountain. It's a rather small rollercoaster with very little excitement, until you turn the lights off.
on Cinderella's carousel behind the castle you can ride Cinderella's horse - she is the one with the gold ribbon tied on her tail![]()
This is true. There are differents songs playing on each "limo." Here's the current list, courtesy of Wikipedia:
Songs heard on each car (Car license plate)
Note: These songs may change due to maintenance or technical reasons. There is no guarantee that a particular track will be playing in the mentioned coaster train.
- 1QKLIMO: "Nine Lives"
- UGOGIRL: "Love in an Elevator" & "Walk This Way"
- BUHBYE: "Young Lust", "F.I.N.E.*" & "Love in a Roller Coaster"
- H8TRFFC: "Back in the Saddle" & "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)"
- 2FAST4U: "Sweet Emotion"

I don't think she's gone, just moved. If I recall correctly, I spotted her in August flying around the bedroom at the beginning of the ride. It was the first time I'd ever noticed her there. But my memory may be faulty, so I'll try to double-check it during my next visit to WDW in two weeks.![]()
When TOT was being built, it got struck by lightning.
In the energizing portal in space mountain, they use blue strobe lights. The strobe lights cause your pupils to dilate, causing the ride to seem darker then it actually is.

Hmm....actually the pupils contract, allowing less light in. Dilation would mean they open up more to let more light in. But the effect is correct...
I actually assumed that the blue of the launch sequence, and the red of the return, were actually based on frequency shift...if you accelerate to a very high speed (we're talking a serious fraction of the speed of light at least), oncoming light will appear blue-shifted (shortening of the wavelength), whereas light behind you will appear red-shifted. So there was some science to the color choices, perhaps in more than one way...
FYI for anyone interested in facts and stuff, I'm reading through "walt disney world notecasts - secrets " it's an iphone app!![]()
That is definitely true! It happened to me twice when we were there in February 08!
