Second or Third Week of December?

We are going to purchase AP's with the intent of going second or third week of December this year and then first or second next year and a trip or two inbetween. The third week of December this year is pushing it to December 21st for departure date and last time we did this, that last weekend was getting pretty crowded BUT if we go with second week then we're tied into going part Nov/Dec to catch the first week of Dec. in 2004.

I haven't been keeping up with the boards prior to the AP rates being released.

Arrive late Dec. 5th - Depart mid afternoon December 14th

Arrive late Dec. 12th - Depart mid afternoon December 21st

We want to do MVMCP twice, probably Sun. & Tues. (guessing it is still on Sun. Tues. and Sat.???) haven't got that far yet into planning.

For lower crowds and hopefully almost walk-on to the rides early in the a.m. which week would you pick???

I've only been the last 1/2 of first week into first 1/2 of 2nd week and crowds were extremely minimal. So I would avoid that week before Christmas this year--that's when the crowds really pick-up.

I vote for the third week. My husband and I went the second week last year and it turned out to be the week that the pop warners were there. As for going part Nov/Dec next year, we did that one year also and the crowds were quite minimal then too.

MVMCP is Sun, Tues, Thurs & Fri:

December 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19

I would pick the later week this year and the earlier week next year. If you go the early week this year, you'll be into Thanksgiving weekend next year.

I agree with DebbieB and the crowds this year probably won't be a problem until Saturday the 20th.

The Pop Warner Football Tournament is 12/7-12/13 this year. Really only affects the parks after 4 p.m. - but really crowds the value & moderate resorts (compared to the rest of December) - but I also agree that the crowds really pick up the Saturday before Christmas.

I was faced with roughly the same questions. I chose to go from 12/14 through 12/21. We will do MVMCP twice. The first being on Sunday the 14th and the second being the last day it runs on Friday the 19th. We also have 2 possible Candlelight Processionals set up. The crowds will grow during the week, but I can't wait! Mickey

I did not know about pop warner either. We are booked at All star spots during this week. We had toyed with the idea of upgrading to a deluxe when codes come out but had pretty muched decided to stay at the value after having to purchase a new car last month.

Has anyone ever been at a AllStar when these boys are here? It is really crowded, noisey? How about the food court?

Now I am getting worried!!!!!

First of all - its not just boys because there is a cheerleading tournament that week as well.

I stayed at All Star Music one year during Pop Warner week - the food court at breakfast was very busy - but there was still seating. Can't comment on dinner - because we never ate at the food court at dinner time. I also remember the pool being very crowded at certain times - but not always.

Concerning noise - I have heard reports of the Cheerleaders practicing at 5 a.m. and waking guests up - but I personally did not experience that.

For anyone interested, i posted a question on the resort boards concerning the pop warner week and how it affected the All Stars. I have got some good responce if anyone is interested in going over there and having a look at it.
