We are trying to figure out what tickets to purchase and was wondering if two days (if we arrive at/before opening) is enough to do each attraction/show/ride/play areas at least once? please keep in mind that we also want to eat at the shark restaurant (two hours min)
fyi, we took three days to tour Busch Gardens/3 days MK and can't see all of AK in one day!!!!
If we are looking for 2 or 3 days at SeaWorld, what tic do you suggest for us. At Busch we bought their yearly fun card.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I believe that Sea World are currently running an offer whereby, if you purchase a 1-day ticket, you can exchange it in the park for a ticket which allows you to visit as many times as you like within 7 days. Might be the best offer for you. That way, if you don't feel like you've seen it all, you can always go back.

In answer to your question about 2 days being enough, DH and I usually visit Sea World twice during our stay. We always go on our first day, do a slightly shorter day, leaving mid afternoon. Then, we will go one other day to catch anything we missed the first day. Having said that, we have been 3 times now and have still to see the Clydesdale horses (always seem to time it wrong so there are LOADS of people about) and one of the shows (the acrobat one) but I suspect we would have had time to see these if we'd stayed slightly longer in the park.

If you want to do ALL of the shows, you will need 2 days (and you'll have fun both days -- there's plenty to do!). SeaWorld is a possible one-day trip, but NOT if you want to see every show and have time for a nice leisurely meal!

Suzy,

How old are the kids in your group?

If they're under 10, then I'd say 3 days--(not full days though) easily!

They could spend hours alone in Shamu's Happy Harbour and may want to see some of the shows more than once!

Thank you for all the info on this. At trip time, the kids will be 6 and 9. We just cant seem to (or don't want to) rush around a theme park. We can arrive beofre opening though but we try to find a theme park day relaxing (no commando touring for us).
Per haps we should look into purchasing a fun card or an anytime ticket. I think the anytime ticket is similar to a one day ticket but you can come back as often as you want in the week???

Then we could come two or three days.

Can anyone tell me about how the anytime ticket works?

Thank you
Suzy

my hubby and i went last june and we did all the shows and saw all the animals ( now i was a big chicken and wouldnt ride the rollercoasters) and we did it all in one day!!!!! but we didnt have children with us

I was hoping to see the majority in a day but I know thats not reasonable. Would you all please tell me what is not to be missed? We are 2 adults and 3 kids 9years old and older.

What would the highlights be? I am trying to plan for 2 days but it looks more likely we will only have one full day.

Thank You.

We just came back from Seaworld about a month ago. The pricing was strange. If you bought a one day ticket it was 64.95 I think, and if you wanted a full year annual pass it was also 64.95 but only if you bought it right away. If you bought a one day ticket then decided to change it to an annual, it was a $10 change fee. So our fun passes as they call them are good until Dec 31 2006! We bought them onsite at the ticket kiosk. Not sure if this is a promotion or what as we've never been there before.

One thing to keep in mind is that some of the night shows are different than the daytime shows-especially Shamu. To explore Sea World and ride the rides-a full day and a half are reasonable-we usually do 1 long day.

I would say go for one day at opening time and then go one day in the evenings. Some things can be done quickly: Terrors of the Deep, Penguins etc. It is the shows that take the time. See most of the shows, especially those involving the larger animals. The Pet show is also worth seeing. We did it all in a day last summer including all three rides (although I did not ride Kraken!) but we had five adults (well, 15+).

I am a newbie to this board and this thread seems to have anwsered my questions regarding Seaworld. We're staying at HRH Universal for spring break April 4-8, where we will do US and IOA for a few days ( we did the same 2 years ago). Our kids are 13 and 16, and we feel we need to go someplace else for a day this trip. It's either SW or, weather permitting, Wet and Wild.
WDW is "been there done that" for us, my kids have no desire to return this trip.
So....our goal if we so decide on Seaworld, is to ride all three thrill rides, see the Shamu show, one other show, and a quick stroll around the place to see the animal attractions.

The special 6- hour adventure tour at $89 each plus admission, seems a bit much. However from your posts in here, I think we can do enough "good stuff" at SW in one day with a one day pass.

We've recently done sharks and petted the 'Rays at Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef- Vegas, as well as Dolphin feeding at the Mirage... Also fed penguins at the Vegas Flamingo ( so "fish" shows may bore my teens...dig?) I realize SW shows are much more elaborate and entertaining, but never the less. Here in Seattle we can view Orcha whales out our window.

My question...One day....SW?...anything else we MUST SEE?

I appreciate your input.

the arctic adventure isn't a thrill ride, it's a simulator like star tours at MGM. then you deboard and head into animal exhibits. the Sharks! encounter is a must-see. the new blue horizons dolphin show is good, as is the clyde and seymore show. the dolphin nursery is cool, as is the manatee encounter. so is the underwater orca viewing area.

thank's a ton...so noted.
Seaworld looks like it will be a good fit for a long day away from Universal.

if you like beer, there are free samples in the Clydesdale exhibit! i always enjoy seeing those beautiful animals.

I love Commando Touring (although my family doesn't) so I think you can do the park in one day if you get there early, hit the 3 rides first, then bounce from show to show. Do lots of walking before you go....

We did SeaWorld last year with our 4 yo in two days. We had a great time and did not rush at all. We even spent over an hour in Happy Harbour--where he changed into his swimsuit and played in the water.

We only spent one day, but we would have loved to have a second day there. However, we visited Sea World on our last day, so unfortunately there was no chance to back. We managed to see all the shows we wanted and to see/do most of the other attractions. But there was no time to do things again, or just to sit down and relax for a moment.

We went in Nov/Dec of 2005 and took advantage of the second day free option which we obtained at the 'window' adjacent to the park gate when you leave. You show your ticket and they take your picture which is printed onto your free day ticket which you use within 7 days.

We have two girls 3 and 5 and we were able to take our time the first day and saw nearly all the shows and return the next day to hit their favorites. We fed the dolphins and did other fun activities which we knew they had fun when their souvenir they picked out turnout to be a dolphin stuffed animal which make dolphins sounds when you press their flipper.

Knowing we had a second day, plus the park is a lot less hectic than WDW allowed all of us to have a good time, both days. :thumbsup2
