seattle

And? As bcla points out, it’s an open carry state and perfectly legal to do. I’d like to know why it was fine in Michigan but it’s a very bad, terrible thing when it happens in Seattle. (Not asking you personally, I don’t get the vibe from you that you think either was a good idea.) I would think if a person was okay with one they would have to be okay with the other.
You're right -- I think they're a bunch of stupid punks posing for Instagram in both states, and you won't see me supporting either group.

I wasn't aware protesters in Michigan forced LEOs to vacate a precinct. Nor any mention of business owners being exhorted by "peaceful people" like in Seattle. Not true?

They've set up border walls, too, for their new 'country.' It's very ironic. City of Seattle pulled out its police and fire departments and provided port-a-potties for the new citizens of "Escape from LA". Oops, sorry...it's Escape from Seattle.

For the record I’m not a fan of assault rifles in public either. I have to assume the idea is to intimidate. I guess I’m just pointing out that no one called for Snake Pliskin or was told to control their state in one case but not in another. It’s highly hypocritical IMO.

Not according to the article I read. The police stepped aside and the business owners seems to support it. In any case, that’s not the discussion we were having. It was about ARs being on display.

We are thinking of flying into Seattle in August and touring the Olympic Penninsula. We wouldn’t cancel due to protests.

Just be forewarned that much of the peninsula, including much of the national park, is not yet reopen. By August I think you’ll be ok, but we are really behind the rest of the country right now as far as reopening. I work out of Port Angeles and the city is terrified of “tourists” coming in to their town if they reopen, so they are dragging their feet and have said that they may not reopen even when they are eligible to do so. It’s really a bit of a nightmare. They’ve already cancelled most of their town events through October.

Did you read the article? These “mobs” are pretty much having “peace ins” and doing chalk drawings. The police stepped aside willingly. My DD lives in Seattle and is not alarmed at all.
My how things change. Now Raz Simone has taken over sporting an AK-47 and setting up armed guards to patrol the wall. I hope he and his group use their guns and their power with compassion.

I was reading an article and the person said this reminds them of Animal Farm.

Did I miss where the protestors in Michigan took over and renamed the area as a new country? Not supporting the ones in Michigan either. But it seems different.
This is something that we're going to be laughing about in a year as a weird curiosity. However, it doesn't sound as if anyone went in with guns into a government building like they did in Michigan. In Seattle it's reported that the police station is boarded up and nobody has breached it.

I did find some message from a claimed Antifa member asking if armed supporters could show up. I think the rationale is that they might have to worry about Proud Boys or Patriot Prayer showing up with their weapons trying to intimidate people. I'd really hate there to be a real shootout. In the past it's been bad, but I rarely heard about any actual shooting.

What happened in Michigan seemed more like the Black Panthers taking their firearms into the Capitol Building in Sacramento.

The police were withdrawn by city government...and the chief has apologized to her officers. I posted the video.

I don't know if the business owners support CHAZ or not. Nor do I know whether they would feel safe in commenting.

Ironic, isn't it? This group is protesting the armed police but will defend themselves with guns. So there will be no police in CHAZ but there will be people armed.

I also find the building of a wall ironic. And patrolling it with armed people.

Of all the things to name your new 'country,' they couldn't come up with something better than CHAZ?
What else starts with CH? Maybe:

Capitol
Hill
Autonomous
Independent
Revolution

I'm just wondering why nobody came up with something that spelled out CHEESE.
