I'm actually considering bringing our Kansas trip. Disney albums can get so huge and the next trips pics are over 1000. I'm going to try to narrow it down a bit, but I doubt I can narrow it to much more.
The best tip for packing light is to kit all your pages. Pictures, paper and embellishments. 2 1/2 gallon ziploc bags come in handy for this, or I use the CM power layout box. Also either cut out titles beforehand if you use a cricut. If you don't want to do titles now bring a post it note or a note pad and a pencil to jot down info for each page. (I use a post it and stick it right to the page.)
Really take a hard look at your tools. Only bring what you use 90% of the time. Trimmer, scissors, a good all purpose pen, adhesive (not liquid unless you check them), refills, your go - to tools.
Lighting is pretty good in the room so you don't need an OTT light or anything like that.
They have a Die cut and punch table that's huge so you won't want for anything. And vendors will be there if you need something specific like paper. They also have a thing called "Scrapper in need" if you need something like a specific sticker or anything you can ask the front desk to get on the mic and ask the scrappers if anyone has what you are looking for.
Oh and I personally don't check my photos, fear of losing them. So I carry my page kits on and check clothes.
