SDV Orlando 2010, August 27 - 29

Thanks so much for letting us join in!! I cannot wait for the whole trip- our little group made all of our dining reservations as well.

I would also like to thanks Buffy for taking care of this. :worship:

Looking forward to having breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, and my DIS friends! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for making the ressies Buffy! And 8:15 is great - it's not the crack of dawn! :lmao:

My gosh -- two weekends and no posts on this thread!

Got my travel plans finalized (had planned my lodging based on Airtran's schedule, and then they changed it -- but got Delta at an okay price).
Debating at what to bring to work on. I'm kind of thinking I'll bring DGS's train-loving years, since that would be an easy theme to pack "lightly." But, would I feel out-of-place not working on Disney pages (certainly have tons of those to do also, but harder to narrow down for travel). I haven't gone to a crop before, so figuring out how to pack (when flying, not driving) will be a challenge.

Anyone else doing non-Disney pages? Guess there's plenty of time to figure that all out.

I'm not sure yet what I'm bringing to work on, but there's a good chance it won't be Disney related. Right now I'm thinking I may work on our Montana vacation book. But, what I could end up bringing is a bit of this and a bit of that which will be some Disney and some not Disney. I'll probably still be deciding this the day before I leave!:lmao:

I will definitely not be working on Disney because all of my Disney albums will be caught up by then. Of course I am almost 1 1/2 years behind on all of my other scrapbooking- so that's what I'm doing. :goodvibes

I'm actually considering bringing our Kansas trip. Disney albums can get so huge and the next trips pics are over 1000. I'm going to try to narrow it down a bit, but I doubt I can narrow it to much more.

The best tip for packing light is to kit all your pages. Pictures, paper and embellishments. 2 1/2 gallon ziploc bags come in handy for this, or I use the CM power layout box. Also either cut out titles beforehand if you use a cricut. If you don't want to do titles now bring a post it note or a note pad and a pencil to jot down info for each page. (I use a post it and stick it right to the page.)

Really take a hard look at your tools. Only bring what you use 90% of the time. Trimmer, scissors, a good all purpose pen, adhesive (not liquid unless you check them), refills, your go - to tools.
Lighting is pretty good in the room so you don't need an OTT light or anything like that.

They have a Die cut and punch table that's huge so you won't want for anything. And vendors will be there if you need something specific like paper. They also have a thing called "Scrapper in need" if you need something like a specific sticker or anything you can ask the front desk to get on the mic and ask the scrappers if anyone has what you are looking for.

Oh and I personally don't check my photos, fear of losing them. So I carry my page kits on and check clothes.

The other thing with tools is asking if someone traveling bvy car will have something- for example- I will be carrying both my cropadile and my imaginese bradmaker- so if you need either of those you could just borrow mine instead of bringing those tools- it is important to have your own basic cutter and small scissors but most of the other tools can be easily shared.

I know you have a TIW card and I have 1 too- maybe with 2 of them they will let all of us use it.

Rebecca

Last year the cast member let us use the one card for our whole group. I am sure we will have enough cards either way though! Every extra penny of savings counts!!!

Southwest will be posting airfare from August 14th into October next Tuesday. I will be getting MomE's and my airfare then.

I can't wait - I have to book our scrapbooking trip flights and for our trip for my DD's 8th birthday in September- Disney cruise and Disneyworld!!:thumbsup2

I need $$$$ to book my seats!

Darn Uncle Sam, why does he need my money this year?!?!?

I know- I'll have to get my scrapbooking trip now- and get the other trip- as I have to buy for 4 people in a few weeks. When is that deposit due again for our trip- isn't it June?

Thanks for the packing tips, and the info that some folks do scrap non-Disney pages (not that I'm paranoid about "fitting in" but it is nice to know I likely won't be the only one working on something else).
