SDMT FP, but wrong time, keep or let go?

I have a SDMT FP for 2 but it is currently at the totally wrong time for me, way before I can enter the parks on a Party night. (I have a party ticket.) Do I hold onto an unusable FP in case a new time pops up or do I abandon it and go with something I know I can use? From what I've seen I think I should hang on to it and keep checking for a better time, but if it's hopeless I'd hate to loose a FP I could use elsewhere. Also, how forgiving is MK currently on missing your FP window? (I mean by like up to 5 mins max, not like half an hour.)

Currently, I have abandoned my day 2 of Epcot FPs in order to gain Space Mountain and Big Thunder for right before the party. I don't really see a great alternative for SDMT right now and am wondering if I totally screwed up, Epcot has EMH that morning so I thought it was a good idea at the time...

So, you have a 15 minute grace period after missing your FP window where it will still turn green. After that, it's all about the CM at the specific attraction. I used to be a CM and I would let people in up to about 1 hour late if they were nice to me and had a valid excuse haha.

If I were you, I would keep checking for a better time at least for a little bit. I also used to work FP and 7DMT FPs would show up, you would just have to be patient.

If you mean USE your current FP, then 15 minutes.

But, you can CHANGE an expired FP to something else (time, and/or attraction) that is still available that day in that park.

Yes, use the current FP. 15 mins, that's good! Our FPs are kinda close to each other but we should definitely be able to use them with a touch more wiggle room.

Decided to drop SDMT afterall and go for PP at a time I can actually use it before the party. Thanks all!
