SDFP: CHANGES COMING!! Beware the 7th of June?!

Reports on expiration seem to have varied? And of course, something may change on the 6th in that regard.

One benefit to tapping is that you can clear the FP off your account, making room for the second Tier 1, a hour before expiration would.

FWIW, I setup 3 FP at HS yesterday. 9,10, and 11am. I did not enter the park and use any of them. I had a 6,7, and 8pm setup on my other MDE account. I waited until 1pm after my first 3 expired and tried to transfer both a tier 1 and tier2 ride to my main account. No go on both.

Because the FP system didn't recognize you as being in the park, you needed to Cancel the initial 3 before transferring over the 3 in MDE 2.

Is there any chance that the "reassign ticket" feature will go away with this update?
FWIW (maybe nothing): a few weeks ago MDE told me to call IT when I tried to transfer a 6th ticket (5 went fine, one at a time). (They were 1 day comp tickets, all assigned to a 'safe' person in my MDE, by a CM at MK (b/c our park tickets were used for entrance for days inappropriately - i.e., we paid real money for these days of admission). I haven't bothered to call yet. I doubt I will have any problem - I have alot of documentation on this - but interesting it had a problem transferring from one person to another in MDE.

OK, but you think if I had entered the park, but not used ANY of the first 3, it would have let me transfer them (one at a time) WITHOUT cancelling? And yes, I was able to cancel and transfer.

You would have had to tap or use 1 FP for the FP system to know you were in the park.

And, if you hadn't used all 3 of MDE 1, you would then Cancel them and CPFP for all 3 in MDE 2.

Ah, so FP system is first "notified" you are in the park by your first use, not by tapping at the entry to get into park. Got it. Thanks!

Hrm. Ok so I have 3 people in my party and also 3 other ticketed users who will not be with us (all same mdx account). I have set up fp's in one park, and then night fp's using the alternate users at another park. Will this not work? Or will I have to make a 4th fp in my night park for my party and use that before I can transfer the fp's?

What?? I thought admissions and fp are now going to talk to each other. If so, tapping mb at fp entrance doesnt mean u used that mb/ticket to enter park. Tapping mb at fp point would make systen become aware that you did NOT use that mb/ticket to enter park, causing fp to be denied?

It works because you will be transferring over a "true" #4 FP.

The other case was 3 FPs were still sitting around unused and another 1 was trying to be transferred. At any time, a Profile cannot have more than the initial 3 FPs.

That's true but we weren't discussing that. We were discussing 3 unused FPs.

Ah. Thanks for that. I thought I had it all clear in my mind until that post. Much thanks to everyone for the head's up about changes!

Yes, initial but expired. Which tells me that I have to actually use all 3 before I can do CPFP another Tier 1. That just skipping them isn't good enough.

Scenario A:

Use 1 Tier 1
Use 1 Tier 2
Let 1 Tier 2 expire

Options:
1) Cancel your original Tier 2 and CPFP in a Tier 2 only. This will not trigger a 4th FP, but will fulfill your "first 3" once you use it.
2) Cancel your original Tier 2 and book anything available right then in the park. Go swipe it to use it up. Can now CPFP in your Tier 1 (or Tier 2).
3???) Even though one of my initial FP is still active, because 2 are used, it will let me move over a Tier 2 CPFP as a "4th fastpass"?

Scenario B:
Use 1 Tier 1
Use 2 Tier 2

Options:
1) Nothing to cancel. You can CPFP in EITHER your Tier 1 or Tier 2.

It seems to me that expiring will NEVER trigger the 4th FP.

@marciemi has run tests and using 1 and expiring 2 does work for transferring a #4.

It just doesn't work with all 3 sitting around which was your case. Once 1 is used, the system recognizes the expiration of the others.

But, no one knows what "expire" means after June 6th.

Thanks! I have to say, I think I'm more interested in the theory of all this than I actually am in using it. Fascinating stuff.

I agree! I rarely even use regular FPs.

All the research taking place in the loophole threads resulted in a better understanding of MDE and FPs which led to better info for regular FP booking.

Invaluable info thanks to @ScrapYap! :)

I'm very new to this (never used sdfp) but will be in the parks June 5-8. I'm eager to see the updates but have a fear this thread will disappear. If that happens, Where else might you discuss the changes?

Ticket entitlements linked to MDE accounts enable FP booking. Change Party is an MDE function enabling the transfer of FPs.

Because both of these are standard functions of MDE, they are covered under the TOS.

I remember I asked about this on the FP+ thread for my March trip and it 100% worked. I booked Little Mermaid at HS for the first show and skipped it. Booked TSMM, then ToT and picked up another ToT while waiting in line for my first ride. Worked like a charm. The Little Mermaid FP+ did remain in MDE the entire day and I did not cancel it because then I would have still been in my original 3.

It will be interesting if this is closed with the upcoming changes. I have a HS and Epcot day planned like this for July. lol
