Hello everyone! I started a Disney scrapbook about 2 years ago, and I got so far, and then I just got stuck and haven't touched it since. Plus, it's probably only 1/4 done and it won't close. I'm finding that I'm just overwhelmed by it all now; I probably have a few hundred pictures and a thousand (or more) Disney embellishments (plus now I got the Cricut with the Mickey cartridge), and I just know where to re-start. I want to, and I want to include as many pics as possible but I'm afraid I won't be able to, so that's part of what's holding me back, too.

Has this ever happened to you? How do you get back into it, after a slump? And how do you organize all the pics/embellishments so that you're not overwhelmed AND then make sure that you don't forget something that you've tucked away somewhere? [I can't believe this has me so stressed...this stuff should be fun!!!] :confused3

It took me 7 years to do my honeymoon album, I was so overwhelmed with the amount of pictures. What helped me was to just take one subject at a time, even if it meant working out of order. So look for a subject that you have only enough pictures to do one 2-page layout, or even just a one page layout, to just get started again. And once you get in a little bit of a groove, you could pull together larger groups of pics (like a parade or a show). I basically had to "ignore" the pile of unscrapped pics and just focus on the envelope of 5-15 pics I was working on at the moment.

Thank you, Hope. That's kinda how I started but now I've just lost my way. I'm going to post what I've done so far to see what y'all think and what you might recommend for how to get back into it. I'll start with the pics of the cover & general pages:

Ok that's what I've got so far...sorry I didn't think of shrinking the pics 'til just now! As you can see, I like to use A LOT of pics and I'm not one for leaving any empty space on a scrapbook page! :rotfl:

those are so cool!

so are you scrapping in chronological order or by park? What I do is get all my pics together and get them in some kind of order, if it's by park then all the Epcot pics go in one pile, Mk in another, etc. If it's in a timeline, I print out a contact sheet with all the pics I plan to use, since the computer puts them in order by date. This helps me divide the pics into groups. I draw boxes around each group of pics that will go together,or cut the groups out. Then gather my pics and start breaking them down into 2 page layouts. These all go into a small Creative Memories power box with index cards as dividers.
Next I take each set of pics and find embellishments and paper that match. and put everything for those 2 page layouts in my power layout box or in 2 1/2 gallon ziploc bags. It seems like a lot of work but I do it here and there, then I am prepared when I am ready to scrap. I can just grab my stuff and my tool bag, and go!

I love the posts/signs w/ the attractions that you visited around the parks -- what a great idea!!!

Also love the sign post :woohoo: & never thought of making a pocket on a page to hold your park maps
Thank you for sharing :thumbsup2

I love what you have done so far.
It is easy to see why it is taking so long, you are making wonderful individual, stand alone pages.

Thank you for sharing. I think they are really great and I also love your signs on the map.

Thank you all for your advice & compliments. I can't take credit for the pocket page or the sign-post page...I think I saw them in a Disney Creating Keepsakes book or on the twopeasinabucket website.

I'm not working in chronological order. What I've done so far is separated all the pics by park/location/event. So what's done so far were the smallest piles of pics. Now I have the rest of EPCOT, AK, MK, and MGM left. PLUS, since the book is already too fat, I was going to do a separate/smaller book (maybe 8x8) of the pics of us with the characters.

Love your pages so far! Especially the pocket page for the maps, and the iteniary page. Very cute. :thumbsup2

Great layouts so far!!! You're doing a great job!!! I LOVE the map pages!!! What a great idea!!! Do you mind if I scraplift those??

WOW you are doing GREAT so far - (WANT TO COME AND FINISH MINE????)
any way - i LOVE the sign post pages -
you have a lot of details without it looking overly crowed! nice job.
Sometimes i pick out pictures that i know i will have fun scraping or i have seen somewhere (mostly here) and then scraplift/copy - that way you get back into the grove and it goes quickly.
i dont scrap in order - i scrap by what i would have the most fun doing -
i also agree with BAMB that you should take your pictures that you want to group together along with paper and embelishements for that page and put them in a gallon ziplock bag - then they will be there ready for you - saves time in the long run.
thanks for sharing

I love your pages!

You mentioned having trouble with the book closing. If I can offer my 2 cents - give yourself permission to let the album be as many books as it takes. I have 3 albums for my 2001 trip and 2 for my 2007 trip. I'd rather use an extra book than limit myself on what I like to scrap.

Great ideas! I really like the Ziploc idea. And I hadn't thought of splitting into multiple books...hmmm...I think I like that idea, too! And feel free to scraplift if you'd like. :goodvibes Thanks again, everyone!

I too love those map/signpost pages & would love to scrap lift them. ;)

I have the same problem as you - get stuck when I look at all my photos and then my thousands of Disney papers & embellishments, it's too overwhelming! I'm interested to hear any tips you get.

OMG! I just love your pages...do you mind if I scraplift some of those ideas? I am going to start scrapbooking with our trip this year (we are going in July-next week actually  ) and I have known that I'd be doing a scrapbook, but no idea how to do the pages!

Anyways- love the pages :) Keep up the awesome job!
