Hello, all! I am new to this particular board (though not to the DIS), so please bear with me if this has already been discussed. I'm interested in possibly joining a scrapbooking club - you know, the kind where they send you a kit of coordinating products every month. I got online to research them - oh my goodness, there are a bunch! Anyone ever try one of these? I'd love some feedback. I'd like to learn a few new skills, have a quicker way of getting some scrapping done, and not have to spend a lot of time obsessing over which stickers go with which paper, etc. (I really don't have a good eye for that, which is why the kits appeal to me.) Thanks in advance!:flower3:

I am in the SEI scrapbook club. There are a few things i like about there club. They have mini and mega kits- one each month- the kits might be for regular layouts, a scrapbook in a box, a card kit, or various size scrapbooks. The focus one onw line of paper each month. You can join and cancel at any time and you can skip kits as often as you like (up to 3 a year and since you only get 6 that is a majority of the time) They post the kit for the following month on the club website by the 10th of a month and you have to cancel or add by about the 25th. You can also add things to the kit. You always get papers and other embellishment such as ribbons, cardstock tags, cardstock or expoxy stickers, brads, buttons. You don't always get the same things but what you get is listed.

A friend of mine in Texas has one. You can look at the October kit at
www.cre8joyworkshops.com Most of her kits sell out quickly. They're released on the first of each month. She (Tracy) was the corporate class and project designer for Recollections.

I've been getting The Treasure Box for over a year. I believe their website is www.gototreasurebox.com It's $20.99 per month including shipping. Jill gives you the choice of up to 3 different themed kits per month. They all make 6 pages. She includes different techniques, a picture of each page and word instructions. I rarely make a page identical to the model.

HTH!

Definitely do your homework about scrap kit clubs.

I have been hearing so many horror stories lately about people who have joined kit clubs and been totally shafted (kits not delivered, kits containing a few sheets of paper and things like rubber bands and paper clips as the only embellishments, etc.)

I have heard good things about Club Scrap. There is another company called The Button Farm that has cute monthly projects (sometimes a mini-album, sometimes layouts,etc.). I also liked the Treasure Box kits that someone mentioned earlier... they are cute and a great price.

Couldnt we create a page kit swap club right here????

Everyone signs up for a theme. I could deal with JUST Disney page kits!
I LOVE this idea! Who wants to do it!!?!?!? It could get a little pricey but maybe we have a limit per layout or something???

Maybe I should not talk AND type at the same time...braining! LOL BRAIN is what I meant !!!

I used to belong to Club Scrap way back when they basically first started and I loved the stuff. They have unique papers and great embellishments.

I saw a QuickQuotes club at CKC this weekend, and thinking about it. Just hard to decide between the two - and then - I bought about a years worth of product at the vendor fair, so do I really need the club?

I have belonged to Club Scrap for almost 3 years. Their papers are unique and beautiful and I've always felt that the kits are well worth the money. I mix and match them and rarely use them to make the layouts shown in the pamphlets that come with the kits, but they do give me good ideas. I tried a couple of other kits before I found Club Scrap, but I felt they were too "canned" and included stuff I could easily buy myself at a big box store. Only once in the 3 years I've been a member did I receive a damaged kit and after I contacted the club they immediately sent me out a new kit.

Check out www.willowtraders.com. It's a website dedicated to kit clubs. There is a listing of tons with direct links in the full list of kits forum.

I belong to two right now.

*Customer service is awesome!
*Very dependable. The sneek peeks go up on the 15th at 1 p.m. EST, and kits are shipped the first week of the month.

*You get a choice from 2 kits each month. One girly, and one more boy.
*Great customer service.

There are so many clubs out there. I would definitely suggest looking at past kits to see if they are your style.

Good luck! And let us know what you choose!
