I'm new to scrapbooking. Can anyone recommend any sites? Any books? Any magazines? Any stores to get good deals on scrapbooking supplies? Oh, and what would I need for scrapbooking supplies? I bought a kit, but looks like I need a few other things.
I'm planning to do a scapbook for our upcoming Disney trip, and to the rocket launch. We're driving down so we'll also have pictures on the drive. :moped:
Thanks!

Hey there!
I am a scrapbook addict! It is my other passion besides disney!
I just posted the other day about a new site (that I just happen to be on the design team for :cheer2: ..lol)..it is called www.loveisinthedetails.ca
It is a Canadian site, Lori doesn't charge any taxes, her shipping is super cheap-you would be hard pressed to find a site that beats it!
She has a great selection and if there is something specific you want she does everything she can to get in! :wizard:
And right now just cause she is so fabulous she is running grand opening specials--they end at the end of the week...spend 50.00 and u have a chance to win a sizzex machine!! :cool1:
She also has a forum (kinda like this but for scrapping) and if you register and post there you have a chance at winning other big lots of scrapping supplies! Believe me the odds of winning are pretty good. :cloud9:
Ohh and we are a pretty cool bunch of gals too..lol...okay..now I wrote a novel! Tell her Vanessa sent you if you visit!

Hi Dandee00!

Welcome to scrapbooking! I'm sure you will find it addictive!

My favourite store for buying papers, stickers, etc is A Buck or Two. I've found a lot of the same stuff that other stores sell for $4-5 there for $2.00. It's hit or miss with their stock, but generally they do carry Disney items. They sell Disney papers 2 for $1.00 where the scrapbooking store I sometimed go to sells them for $0.99 a sheet. If there's A Buck or Two near you, be sure to check it out!

Good luck with your scrapbook... I did one of my trip last year and it ended up being almost 80 pages, I enjoyed it so much I didn't want it to end!

Thanks Grover. Checked out the site. Looks great and I'll explore more later. It looks like another addiction! :rotfl:

That's a lot of scrapping! :teeth:
And how long was your trip? A week? Lets' see 80 pages for every 7 days...my book will be 320 pages! :faint:
I have found some cool stuff at a Buck or Two and the Dollar Store. Some Disney appliques and stickers, and some paper. I'll keep looking into these stores.

Hi Dee!

Our trip was 8 days and it was for my DD's 4th birthday, so we took a ton of pictures. Also, my DD was lucky enough to be a part of streetmosphere at MGM, so I did a 6-page spread on that. I did an 8 1/2 x 11" album, so I probably used more pages than I would have in a 12 x 12" album which I will be doing for our Dec trip - 10 days... that could be a HUGE album!

The one recommendation I wanted to give you was that you should invest in a paper trimmer (they run between $19 and $30 at Staples)... I just bought one recently and I wish I'd had it when I was doing my Disney book.

Another place to look for supplies is Walmart. They don't seem to carry Disney stuff, but they have great prices on most of the other stuff you would need.

Welcome to the Addictive World of Scrapbooking!!!!!!!

I went on the 14 day Disney Magic Panama Canal cruise and I took over 1500 pictures and have accumulated about another 1000 of my friends pictures. I already have over 120 pages done and I am nowhere near done.

The hardest thing I find is weeding out the bad pictures, which I usually delete from my camera before printing!!!!!.

After my cruise I was my camera shops favourite customer!!!!!!

Another good website/online store to check out is ScrapYourTrip.com They have some fabulous stuff for the Disney parks and cruises.

edited to add that their shipping costs to Canada are only a $1 more and they are usually quite quick.

:flower: I just went to Walmart today and found Disney paper packages and appliques, punch outs and a few other cool things. Maybe WalMart is starting to jump on to the "Disney" scrapbooking.

There is a scrapbook store in my area, which also offers classes. It has a lot of different things.

Yep, I'm hooked and haven't even got to Disney yet! :rotfl:

Yipee for Dollarama-they get new stuff every day!
