We are cruising next year, 7 days Bahamas out of N.Y., with the 1 day at WDW, my wife will need a scooter to get around, can we take the scooter with us from say MK to Epcot or do we have to leave the scooter at MK and pick up another one at Epcot? Thanks.....

Will she need a scoooter for the whole trip? (Airports - cruise terminal - on the ship - WDW, and reverse, getting home). Or is it just for the WDW day?

If you’re only renting at WDW, you first risk them running out of scooters before you get there, but yes, you get a name tag for your rental scooter and when you leave MK you’ll take your name tag to EPCOT to prove you’ve paid for a scooter for the day. You will again hope they have one for you.

Without staying at a WDW property, I don’t know how an offsite company could get a scooter to the park for you...

If she needs it for the whole trip, Special Needs at Sea gets good reviews.

No, she only needs a scooter for the day, since we only have 1 day WDW. So what you are saying is that we would have to leave the scooter at MK, and try to get another one if we go to any other park, correct!!!

Walker Mobility delivers to both Port Canaveral and WDW. I don't know if they can accommodate a 1-day rental (assuming early pick-up and late return). But you might try contacting them just to see if they can work something out.

Otherwise, WDW in-park rentals are on a first-come/first-served basis. While you would probably get to MK early enough for an ECV rental, if you park-hop you do run the risk of the 2nd park not having any available at the time you arrive. You could then use a wheelchair until they contact you that an ECV has been returned and available for you.

Enjoy your cruise!

Right. Disney scooters don’t leave the park where they were rented. Turn in your MK scooter, get to Epcot (scooterless!...) and pick up an Epcot scooter.

Next question, if you can get a scooter from one of the outside vendors, can you take that scooter with you from park to park?

Yes, equipment rented from an outside vendor can park-hop with you, go to Disney Springs, visit resorts, etc. The challenge may be the 1-day timeframe, as typically the outside vendors rent for a multi-day period. You'll need to discuss that to see if the vendor is willing/able to work with it. Since Walkers is allowed to access the PC port terminal pre- and post-cruise for rentals, they may be able to work something out. If using Special Needs at Sea you would probably rent for the duration of the cruise, with pick-up/return via the NYC terminal. There are other vendors who work just within the Orlando area (not PC area), but whether you could arrange a 1-day rental with pick-up/return at a park is questionable.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks for the info, I just contacted Walker Mobility and they do rent for 1 day, I just have to make arrangements for where to pick up & drop off, but again that's 1yr away. ...
