Sci-Fi or 50s Prime Time?

We have eaten both - YEARS ago! We will have our 2 kids with us - ages 9 and 12. Which would you recommend that the kids would enjoy most?

My son and i have been going to scifi since he was 9. He's 12 now and still loves it. So do i! Atmosphere is a lot of fun and the food is good. They brought the ribs back! Love them! They also have steak on the menu, and fried pickles. The burgers are quite good, so are the shakes.

We enjoy this place more than 50s. That's just us. My son enjoyed watching the servers pick on me at 50s, but he was nervous about being picked on himself. That's partly why he doesn't seem keen on going there.

We really enjoy both restaurants for food and atmosphere....our kids are 9 and 11. It depends on what type of atmosphere your kids would like better, and only you can decide that. The best thing to do is check out the menus for each restaurant and talk it over with your kids, and if they seem to like one menu over the other, then go with that restaurant. Since we always get the DxDP and go to DHS more then one day, we always do both each trip. Good luck.

sci fi! It's a lot of fun and they have great food! Prime time is good, but nothing beats sic fi!

Before last week I would have said scifi but we went to 50s last week and had the best meal. We went there way back when and didn't like it so we were kind of wary n trying it. They impressed more then I thought that would. The salmon and pork were excellent, fried chicken, and pot roast were really good. My boys loved their hot dog. We love sci if but if you don't want burger and fries then give 50s a chance

Here is another vote for Sci Fi. I love both the food and the environment. There is really something about sitting in a old 50's car at a themed drive in watching "scary" movies. The food is oh so good, especially the shakes. We did this one back in 2010 and we look forward to doing it again!

I'd say the Sci Fi. 50's usually runs way behind and by the time we get seated, my kids are already picking at each other. I wasn't impressed with the food either.

Sci-fi seemed like the one for us, only because the burgers were SOOOOO good and we didn't have to wait as long. We've been to both once and our reservation at 50's ran 1 1/2 hours late!! I'm a diabetic so it does matter for me.

As far as our daughter goes (she's 10) I think she liked Sci-Fi more.

My vote us Sci-fi too. Last time I ate at 50s the food was mediocre, although I'm hopeful with the pp's review as my kids are asking to do both this trip. We haven't done either in a while and may be there enough this trip to justify both. But if I had to pick one I'd go with Sci fi.

Prime time has better food but I think Sci-fi has a much better theme that kids your age would enjoy plus e food there is pretty good.

50s prime time is my vote! The fried chicken is doo good and shakes and desserts are awesome. Sci fi's food was not good, IMO. It was uncomfortable and if you had a large party you are not able to talk to everyone only sitting next to u. And Sci Fi was so quiet and way too dark inside, which obviously so since a drive in, but it was erie to us.

We love the Sci Fi.

I'm really not into interacting with the waitstaff and goofing off with them. I don't enjoy that type of banter , at all.

I enjoy the quietness of the Sci Fi. The 50's Prime Time is too loud.

We usually eat at Sci Fi for lunch, the quiet atmosphere is a great break from the park.

Sci-fi has a really awesome, unique theme. I love it, it's really cool. I haven't been for years, my husband has never been but we're going next month!

50's I like, we're going there next month too, but it involves more interaction. Your kids would get picked on and you would most likely too. That's fun when you're in the mood.

ITA. The food at Sci-Fi is gross. I went there with my EXTREMELY non-picky DH. I swear, the guy will eat anything. He hated it! It takes a lot for him to swear off a restaurant for the rest of his life, but I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that we will never again set foot in Sci-Fi.

The atmosphere at Sci-Fi is better, but if you want to eat, go to the 50's Diner. It's a lot of fun there too!!!

Or what you could do to see both would be to have your meal at the 50's Diner and then head to Sci-Fi for dessert. They do have good dessert. That way you could experience both places and get some edible main-course food...
