Sci Fi Dinner

Thanks....I call dibs on that solo seat!
Have to say, I would have been ok taking the solo seat last trip if we were in a 2x2x2 car ...it's a relaxing restaurant and I enjoyed my food. That said, having done both types of cars, I did like sitting in a regular-table car last trip. Either way, I happily recommend Sci-Fi!

I've only eaten there once, as a solo diner, but I had an ADR at opening time so it wasn't busy at all during my meal. I was seated in the forward facing car but I am trying to remember if I was on the front row but can't say for sure. I can't remember anyone being in the way (of seeing the movie screen) so either it was empty or I was on the front row. It was 6 years ago. Booked again for August for 2 (me and one child), so hoping for front row of a car. Again we're going as it opens for lunch. Can't wait.

Are you guaranteed to sit in a car for a party of 3 (2 adults, 1 child 3-9) with an ADR? or you can also be seated at an umbrella table? My daughter was chosing our restaurant list with me and she'd be so disappointed if we are not seated in a car...
Yes, the umbrella tables have always been for walk ups. My husband and I eat there every time and get a car. If it's crowded we might hitch a ride in someones car but that's fine!

Amazing replies. Just the fact that this thread is on page 3 days a lot about this restaurant (mostly good comments). Gonna send my kids and DH all the info and see if they're interested. ADR date opens Tuesday so will want to book then if they are interested. Definitely sounds fun and I like booking Disney type places that are themed or different from your everyday place we can go to at home. A break from the sun as well would be a bonus. Just need to make sure it doesn't take away too much time from the rides (but doesn't seem so based on the responses).

One important question....a few have mentioned the shakes. Any particular one to order? That would definitely be a treat for our kids.
Hi OP: The shakes are in the old fashioned diner type glasses (at least they were 3 y/ago. They taste great, but I stick to the usual ones; vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. I think the drive in atmosphere ads to it.

We are there same day at 1:30! Have been to Disney many times but never to this restaurant. My teens asked for it. Looking forward to it but wondering how they configure seating for a family of 5 (2 college aged, one teen and parents).
When we were a family of five the hostess showed us to a car and asked us to seat ourselves. We usually sat in the back and the kids took turns of who sat alone - usually the oldest. We were never offered the option of the cars that sat across from each other. Come to think of it, our eldest doesn't really like that restaurant. Good luck! And now I'll be scouting out family's of 5 - LOL.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I showed it to my kids and they were quite interested...thought it looked really neat. Booked it this morning as my date opened up (not the best time as it's late morning instead of early afternoon...but grabbed what I could get). Looking forward to trying Sci Fi.

That’s great! If you want to move it to a later time, keep trying and/or set up an alert… people’s plans change, so you may score a time that suits you better.

Enjoy!
