Sci-Fi Dessert Only?

We are planning a PS for the 50's Prime TIme (DD LOVES this place) but I want to try out Sci-Fi? Anyone ever go for dessert only? Can you do that? Do they frown on dessert only-ers?

We do this a lot, but haven't done it at Sci-Fi yet. We make sure to go at off-peak hours, though the new Dining plan seems to be crowding out a lot of the table services restaurants, I'm not sure there is an "off-peak" anymore, so we may hesitate to do this for our next trip. I would just wing it and stop by to ask the CM. It's also always helpful to give them a timeframe. I usually say that we won't be longer than 15-20 minutes for coffee and dessert.

In April, we ate lunch at SciFi, and weren't too excited by their dessert menu....so, we went for dessert only at 50's PTC! Now, THEY have good desserts!

The rum shakes at Sci-Fi are great. We love to go there for shakes and onion rings.

When we went in January we did dessert only with a PS but they weren't crowded. Really, I think if you have a PS you should order whatever you want and they should deal with it! Nowhere does it state that you MUST order "X" amount of food or that your bill must come to a minimum total of "X" dollars.

We actually planned to use the PS as dinner, but we ate lunch really late so we weren't hungry. I had a "cookie monster" and DH had a sundae. They were fine, but they weren't fabulous. Mine tasted like soft serve vanilla on big Chips Ahoy cookies. Not knocking Chips Ahoy, but they didn't taste like wonderful home baked cookies fresh out of the oven!

Sci Fi was fun but the huge number of bad food reviews turned us off. I imagine DS will insist we go back, so maybe we will hit it for burgers at lunch. They are supposed to be OK. But we'll pay cash - not use a TS credit from the dining plan!

The first time we tried Sci Fi we only got desserts. I told the hostess that we were only getting dessert and she wouldn't sit us in a car, only in one of the tables. We didn't have a PS that time so that may have had something to do with not getting a car. The onion rings are great and I could go and just get them and be happy.
