School Hours

My dd is in the 5th grade. Her school starts at 7:45 and ends at 1:45. 2 days a week she has to be at school at 7:25 so she can go to band practice at 7:30am. Preschool starts at 8:15 for my other dd. DS has the best schedule at college. 1st class is at 12:05 and he is done at 3:30. To think I pay $9,000 a year for him to go to school for 3 1/2 hrs a day. I wish the schools around here would start later in the morning(after 8:30). I think the kids would be more productive.

My kids go from 7:40 until 2:30. I remember going from 8 until 3:10 when I was in high school (a long, long time ago ).

High School 7:20 -2pm
Elementary 8:30 - 3 unless you are pre-k, k or 1 and then you are out at 2. All out at 2 on Wednesday
Middle School 9 - 3:45

LOL! I know that feeling. In high school we went from 8:15 until 2:45. I think it's great that some schools are going 7 hours a day. After all those years of going to school for 6 hours, it's hard to work 8 hours. My body still wants to be on that 6 hour schedule.

My district is as follows.


High School... starts at 745/750
Middle Schoo Starts at 8
Elementary starts at 845/855

Yes, our bus does all three sets of schools, so it is for a staggered schedule. We also have 12 elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools there.

The high schools are out earlier... the middle school I work at closes at 3, my kids are out 3:20
