Scary Movies

Blair Witch Project & The Exorcist
Although the first time I saw Jaws that scared me the most.
Now after seeing it a million times I know when everything is coming.

Check out a movie from the 1980's called "The Changeling" starring George C. Scott - creepy!

**Different plot than the Angelina Jolie movie : )

I cant believe it took 5 pages before someone said Jaws.

Must be the age. :rotfl: Seeing that movie in theatres when it first came out 35 years ago is totally different then watching it at home.

The Changeling- not the Angelina Jolie one, but the George C. Scott one. It is an oldie but definite goody! It will keep you out of attics for years...

+1 :thumbsup2

Another that I like is probably closer to "horror comedy" than true horror: The People Under the Stairs. Really a stupid movie in the end, but the first visit into the house when you had no idea what was there or what was going to happen was one of the most tense movie experiences I've ever had.

I was too young to see it in the theaters, but vividly remember my best friend's father telling us that after seeing Jaws for the first time he was afraid to sit on the toilet for a month! ;)

The Grudge scared the snot out of me, and I refuse to watch Paranormal Activity.:scared1:

I remember standing in a line that seemingly wrapped around a city block in San Francisco waiting to see Jaws. it was great!

Hellraiser scared the crap outta me when it came out. We want to get it for our horror movie loving DD, but I really don't want to order it on-line. I keep hoping I'll see it, along with the rest of them in a DVD pack, like the Elm Street movies we got her.

Please tell me I am not the only one, who after seeing Poltergeist, would not stand with their feet under the bed or let their leg hang off the bed for the fear that The Clown would grab it and drag you under the bed. I don't care if I was 15 and sleeping in a double bed at the time this came out. My bed was pushed into the corner and I slept with my back pressed against the wall and my knees pulled up into my chest.

If you are going to mention "horror comedy" aka "grade B horror" then you have to mention "Army of Darkness", "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" and a recent one I saw was called "Tokyo Zombie" (yea that was a grade D but oh so bizarre).

More favories are...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Omen
Dusk to Dawn

Super favorites are

American Werewolf in London
Interview with a Vampire
Queen of the Damned

(And yes, I still like QOTD even though they changed the story a bit. LeStat is HOT!)

I watched Quarantine last night. It was OK. The screaming chick and "blair witch camera effect" was ick, but I stuck with it.

I am sure there are many more movies I love. I could go on.:lmao:

Paranomal Activity scared the pee out of me. I STILL have trouble sleeping if I think about it at night...

I have to second that one. I'm not that big into scary movies, particularly slasher types, but that one was really eery and spooky. The Exorcist I saw as a teen and man did that freak me out. There is an old movie called "The Innocents". It is a well done older movie from the 60's, but really creepy and spooky. Get the original version, I think it was remade.
