Scarlet and Pete's Fairy Tale Wedding *10th Sep 09* Wedding Pictures now up!

Well some of my guests aren't really that keen on the idea, but it's not every day that you can go for real Afternoon Tea in such a beautiful place.
So the way i see it is if they chose to come great, if not well then me, my mum and sister will have a great time (and i'll have a lovely new hat :cutie: )

That is the perfect additude! I agree 100%, if no one else like the idea more tea and sweets for you and your mum and sis! And yay for a fun new hat! Are you going to get a fun vintage hat to wear? I have a great vintage shop by me that sells the cutest vintage 1950-60's accessories like hats and bags... I have to hold myslef back when I am in there, or I would be broke lol!

Wedding Hair

I think after months of looking this is how I want my hair.I've looked at all kinds of fancy differnt hair styles but for the way I want my tiara and veil I think simple lose curls will be best.

And for CJ (my M.O.H) were having a pin curl in front like this then the rest of her hair is been curled. I've also got her a red rose to put to the side of the curl. She'll look like a real 50's pin up!

Ohh I love the hair styles you have chosen! I love the loose curls, they will look great with a veil, very relaxed and pretty. And your MOH's hair will be very glam, the rose will really be lovely... you could even add a hidden mickey on her rose lol!

I'm getting a 1940's style hat to match my dress i'm wearing and i've already bought some black lace glove :cutie: I'm too excited, i just can't wait.
And that shop sounds amazing! All my clothes, bags everything are 40's/50s so i think i'd end up been poor too if that shop was near by

The hair was a really hard choose because i want my veil to the front on my hair just behind my tiara so i couldn't have my hair up, i also didn't want the tattoo on my neck to show on my wedding day:angel:

I'm glad you like them :goodvibes Picking how to have my hair was harder then choosing my wedding dress!

It is isn't it?? I think its because you want everything to work together.... I think what you've picked will look great with your dress, and I LOVE your MOH's hairstyle! I wish I could stand having my hair up to have something like that!

Today is an exciting day for my darling Pete. His suit has finally been finished. It was hand made for him and he couldn't be happier with it.
When he picked me up from work today it was super hard not to have a peek in the suit bag, but I was a good girl and didn't. I will see it for the first time on the day we get married just like he will my dress. It's only fair that way right? :goodvibes
THAT is so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to see your wedding pictures!

My Tea Party!

qq71q8.jpg

Everyone has been asking me what I'm going to do for my bridle shower or whatever you want to call it. Now for anyone that knows me, going out drinking and been loud is just what I hate so I really didn't want one. That's why I was so excited the other day when I was looking at places to eat when I found the Garden View Tea Room. Now that's what i call a party, a rose tea set, strawberry's and tea! Yes, i know I'm living up to the English stereotype here but I LOVE all of these things. And it gives me a reason to were a hat and gloves!

And while the girls have Afternoon Tea, Pete and the boys are going to The House Of Blues for a bar and grill. I love how totally opposite the two things are. Pete's guys are doing something really boy like and my lady's are doing something so very girly.

Then after that at the end of the day me and Pete are going to have some time together just us two before we go to our different hotels before our big day!

I really like this idea.... We were going to do the same and I Have to say anything tea is wonderful....

Okay so, I am offically in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE it!

Those hairtsyles are great - just perfect.

Afternoon tea will be great fun too. I did tea at the Ritz with a group of friends back in 2006 and it was brilliant - such an iconic and English thing to do!

Oh wow! I was looking at afternoon tea at the Ritz last week. It looked beautiful, I bet you felt like you were in a wonderful old movie:cloud9:
And i'm glad you like the hair. I was a little botherd that mine was a bit too simple, but think it should work.

Our Music

We have now got all of our music picked out now. Most of them were my darling Pete's ideas :goodvibes. We wanted all Disney music (except our first dance)

Groom
Beauty and the Beast - Beauty and the Beast

Brides Maid
In a world of my own - Alice in Wonderland

Bride
Part of your world - The Little Mermaid

Unity Candle
Can you feel the love tonight - The Lion King

Recessional
When you wish upon a star - Pinocchio

First Dance
Don't want to miss a thing - Aerosmith

Cutting the cake
Once upon a dream - Sleeping Beauty

I'm really happy with these song, although I know I am going to cry at the part with the unity Candle. And our first dance, Oh dear I'm going to cry so much. I hope I don't make to big a fool of myself :rotfl:

Love your music choices!! :goodvibes You're allowed to cry at your wedding, but only with happiness! Don't forget that! I've left it to Robert to pick our first dance.... Dear Lord what have I done?! Lol! It all looks great Hun!

Bob xoxoxoxoxox

Oh good choices! And don't forget Aersomith is still kind of Disney (Rock and Rollar Coaster) so I think it totally fits!:thumbsup2

Oh it will defently be happy tears but they still make eyeliner run :scared: And i'm sure that Robert will pick a lovely song for you both and it will be far more special because he chose it for you, that's how i felt when Petey chose ours:cloud9:

I plan to get some make up setting spray to combat runny eyeliner! :thumbsup2

Ha ha, you clearly have no idea about his taste in music! He loves B*Witched and Billie Piper.... I'm half expecting our first dance to be 'Honey to the Bee'.... :lmao:

I love the fact you have 'In a World of My Own' from Alice in Wonderland in your music- Very under-rated Disney song in my opinion!

Love your song choices! :)

Thank you :goodvibes after we had ideas for the songs we sat down together and listened to them all to make the final decisions :cutie: It was lovely.

Oh dear :scared: you better hope that he a least picks a romantic Billie Piper song :rotfl:
And my sister just LOVES Alice in wonderland :ccat:we wanted each of the songs to have some meaning. It was hard for her to choose between world of my own and painting the roses red!

I am STRESSED!!! And Virgin air lines are to blame:sad2: I've been trying to find out about how I can get my dress over there. I asked if we had any extra luggage allowance because we booked our wedding and flights for us and all our guests thought Virgin and they told me no. OK fair enough so I emailed asking if I could carry my dress on in it's dress bag as my hand luggage. So I wait and wait and wait for them to email me back :surfweb: I finally got a reply saying that to take my dress on as had luggage it would have to be in a box 56cm length by 36cm width. So I explain that it couldn't fit in a box like that but it could fold over and fit in over head. To which I get told no. It will have to go in a case :scared1: I'm so scared that something will happen to it. How am I meant to settle been separated from my wedding dress all the way from the UK to Disney World? They say that the best thing they can do is stick a fragile sticker on it :sad1: I am so worried about this.

Ohhh Scarlet, I am so sorry to hear about your issues with virgin! That is totally not right! Maybe call again and see if you get a different answer?? That happens with Disney sometimes... I know Carly (thatdisneygirl) checked her dress and did not have a problem. What about shipping your dress with insurance to Carolyn Allens to be steamed?? Just a thought, but maybe it will be ok, I know a lot of brides have shipped their dresses to CA's and have picked them up in perfect condition! I hope you work it all out:hug:

i flew with virgin for our wedding and having worked for them the officail line at the call centre is that its not allowed on in the dress bag. When we flew out there for our planning session i asked the check in staff and they said as long as secuirty are ok with it so I asked them when i went through, they said as long as the airline is ok with it.

Having got mixed answers i spoke with my dress shop and they managed to get it in a hand luggage sized case and I took it on board with me. I then got it back in the case to come home with it.

It didnt need steaming or anything, we just hung it in the dress back leading up to the wedding and it was fine

I really didnt think the shop was going to squeeze it in the bag but they told me that they come that big when they get delivered!!

I flew virgin and you can take two cases each so I took the two 'wedding' cases and my DH had two cases with our holiday things. My Mum also had a 'Wedding' case. My dress had its own hard suitcase and got there without any problems. But I was worried about it and got married in the middle of our holiday just incase it did go missing and then it gave them time to find it.

Scarlet, definitely see if you can get it in a hand luggage size case, like Sarah did - that's what I'm doing too. Got a case for less than £20 and it is just under the maximum specifications. Luckily for me, my shoes and accessories will also fit in there - no way am I letting that lot go in the hold!

Thanks alot for you're help everyone  I think I will call the bridal shop and see if it's possible to fit my dress into my hand luggage like orangetiggs and Scrap_Vamp suggested. Because the thought of my dress been away from me for such a long flight :scared1:
Thanks again girls :goodvibes
