The unknown for me is my biggest fear. And I am once again heading into it on Thursday. My DH has been through thyroid cancer and related problems and now goes in Thursday for more testing on yet new problems. He has been having lower jaw tremors for the past yr and now seems to have them in his hands from time to time. We know it may be early Parkinsins. And hope it's not yet once again cancer. It runs wildly in his family and I am just scared. I know we will not get any real answers on the first visit, but dread it none the less. Anyone out there had any problems in this area after having thyroid removed? Thanks for listening. You are all the best.

I don't have any answers for you but will keep you & your DH in my prayers.

Prayers for your dh and a  for both of you too. Since I had my thyroid out in Jan. I still have lower jaw pain, but that is also where the surgeon did the radical neck dissection. He tells me its post surgical pain etc. I dont know if that is true. Dont know what your dh eactly means by a "tremor". Mine kind of throbs alot and the pain has radiated across my whole lower jaw too. Its throbbing right now. Mostly to the Left but usually not farther than the middle chin line. Can I ask what type of thyroid cancer your dh has? You can send a pm if you dont want to post it publicly. I have papilliary with the rare columnar cell variant Does he have a variant like tall cell, hurthle cell etc. They thought I had meduullary at one time too.

Praying the tests will give you a clear indication of things and his issues can get resolved. Keep us posted. Blessings to you both.

I am so sorry to hear that your family is facing this additional health challenge. I am sending you and your hubby some BIG koala cuddles from 'down under'.:grouphug:

Thinking of you.
Trish

My daughter had her thyroid removed for cancer over 10 years ago.....I do not remember her saying that she had jaw issues and I did take care of her after the surgery..

I am wondering if maybe, as this is a tricky surgery, anything head and neck can be tricky, if they might have damaged a nerve causing this sort of tremor.. Let's go there first before we worry about anything else.. right... give yourself permission to think it is just nothing and will go away in time..

Hugs.. try not worry..

We went in today and found out that what he is possibly facing is indeed Parkinsins. He's had other testing with this and they found nothing. Parkinsins can't be 100% diagnosed, but all the early symptoms are there and that is what they're treating it as right now. I hate not getting 100% deffinitave answers....but I know nothing is black and white. But at least we know what it isn't. So we will deal with it head on. Thank you all so much for your support....I can't tell you how much it helped me. And I will keep you updated.
