Scared of AllStar Buses

We (me, 7 y/o dd, gal friend and her 4 y/o dd) are going to Disney in June (12-18) and staying at Movies. My family went in June 2000 and stayed at CBR and I can distinctly remember leaving the parks in the evening and noticing VERY long lines for the All Star buses. I remember thinking "that would really suck!" And was glad to be staying at a Moderate.
I am afraid that we are going to end up doing alot of waiting for buses and then standing on buses. And with the tiredness of two little girls, I'm concerned that it could be the downfall of our trip.
Should I be scared of the buses? Or are they not as bad as I think?

We have stayed at POR 2x, ASMO 3x, and ASSP once. Overall I would say the bus service was better at the values over the moderates. Yes, sometimes there were long lines when the parks closed, but thats to be expected and was the same at pretty much all the bus stops.

I'm betting you saw their line at the end of the day as the busses were on their way. We stayed at POR and found the line to be HUGE but after about a minute bus after bus after bus arrived and we were on our way back "home". I think Disney does a fairly good job with all the busses. Their biggest problem is hiring pleasant, qualified bus drivers.

Actually the buses for the values move people decently, but IMHO renting a car and driving there yourself is heaven with little ones, especially at the end of the night

Since they started "Magic On Demand", the buses move people much more efficiently - I witnessed one night after Fantasmic 4 buses pull up for the All-Stars at once and load very quickly.

We have stayed at the AS's many many times and have tried the bus service many times. It has always been excellent..we have never had a long wait coming or going. No problems at all.

You all made me feel so much better!! I think our daughters are going to really love Movies (us big girls too!)! That was the only detail I was unsure of!

We're heading down in December (before Christmas) and will likely be bringing our own stroller. I know that strollers have to be collapsible, but do they get taken on the bus or stored in the cargo area?

It's only going to be our second time down there...first time on-site, and first time with DS (turning 3 while down there).

Strollers get taken right on the bus.

According to the Birnbaum guide the All-Star buses are direct, they don't stop at other resorts thus making them a quicker ride.

One thing you might want to try, and it always works for us. (I will qualify this with the fact that my "baby" is 6'2" and 17.)

At closing we linger in the park for 30 minutes or more after the fireworks. If your little ones are snoozing in the strollers, then that's even better. Find a quiet park bench out of the mad crush and relax. Grab a soda, or slowly stroll opposite of the exit until security nudges you the other way. I would only reccomend this if you have your own stroller, cause if you are renting a Disney stroller, then you have to turn it in and carry heavy sleeping children to the bus.

You will get back to your resort at roughly the same time, you will just be spending your waiting time in the park as it empties out instead of standing in a noisy, smelly bus line.

By that time once you stroll out to the empty bus area, a bus should be along quickly and you will have a seat.

Yes, the strollers are folded and brought on the bus with you and placed at your feet or next to you in the aisle.

I have styed at budget hotels twice---All Stars Music twice. I then went to Moderate stays. I have noticed no real difference in bus service.
