I am really disappointed with the price increase for the lightsabers. We had reservations last year and had to cancel. So now, we’re 2 weeks before our trip and I reserved Savi’s for both my sons and the increase to the price for these went up drastically. Does anyone have a phone number or email address for me to contact and voice my displeasure? I know it probably won't do any good, but I feel like I have to say something!!

We're going to have to cancel our younger son's reservation for savi's. He was on the fence if he wanted to build one and now it's priced him out of it. I sent an email to guest services.

(For context to anyone coming in- the price was raised from $199.99 to $219.99, via Disney World’s website.

I am personally glad we already did this and have one of each type before the price increase.

I have heard via some Twitter news sources that if I’m you booked before today, the old price will be honored.

That would be great and the right thing to do! We're going in a matter of days and the kids have been saving for what seems like forever!

FWIW, if you were willing to pay $200, is the extra twenty bucks really a deal killer? Personally, I don't understand what made it worth two bills, let alone the extra twenty bucks. Its not something I am ever going to have an interest in doing. But with the inflated costs of everything at WDW, does that extra twenty bucks truly make it not worth it? I guess I don't understand

While your point is valid (what's an extra $20, if you were already ready to pay $200), it's just the optics that bother me. A 10% price increase. These are the ones you hear about, but I have no doubt they are quietly raising prices on other things all throughout the complex. Meanwhile, the hours are still shorter, there is no FP, there are no fireworks, meet and greets, restaurants are still closed, MDE was canceled....

Maybe get the place back to running the way their old pricing reflected. Then jack up the prices.

I made my reservations at 6 this morning and the confirmation email didn't give a price so I have no idea if I'll pay the extra $20 or not.

The main site says it's now $219. I'm trying to call to confirm we will pay the original price. If I get through to someone, I will ask what you would pay if you booked this morning.

Wow, thanks! :)

Wow, thanks! :)
I was able to get someone on Chat. She confirmed that because we reserved before today, we would get the $199 price. Can you check the email confirmation that you received after booking. There is a price towards the bottom of the email around where it talks about cancellation. Let me know if you can find it.

As far as value...
We were trying to decide between the $100 Droid or $200 lightsaber build. The droid looked ok but the whole lightsaber experience seemed really cool. We figured at those prices may as well book what we would love, not just like.

I did not go in but DH and DS17 went in and built a lightsaber. They came out looking like 2 little boys with ear to ear grins and said the whole experience was phenomenal.

We try not to waste money at WDW because it’s so easy to do. This one felt worth it.

Nope, scrolled all through the (really long, lol) confirmation email & no price. Honestly, it's not a huge deal either way. But I'm giving you a total shout-out for being so nice to ask. I know being on the phone with Disney lately is a chore.

If they won’t honor the old price, please don’t cancel your younger son’s reservation. PM me your Venmo or similar and I’ll make up the difference so your kid isn’t disappointed.

Seriously.

Thank you so much ! That's super sweet of you! We told the boys we're keeping the reservations, but you better believe I'll put up a stink if they attempt to charge us the increased price.

I confirmed with Disney yesterday that anyone who had a reservation prior to the increase will be charged the original price.

I attached an image of where the price is mentioned on the original confirmation email. It's toward the bottom of the email.

Goodluck. WDW honors lower ticket prices bought before a price increase. This is not our of line with that and easy to see why a guest would expect the grandfathering.
