Savi's Price Increase

We did and it didn't matter. I also had a VM from a CM confirming that the original price would be honored and that didn't matter either. At Sav's, they asked me for the CM's name and extension and it felt like a witch hunt was going to happen to this poor CM who told me that I would be able to pay the old price.
That does not sound like good customer service. It is $20, not a lot of money for Disney

We were there last week and had three reservations at the old price. As been reported, they would not honor the old price. To add insult to injury, my son asked if he could change the color of his lightsaber after it was lit up as the color ended up being a lot different then he thought it would be as shown before being lit up---they said no. So, they ended up getting more money from him because he then had to buy another color.

Very bad experience and unacceptable.

That's crazy! They could just swap out the crystal for him after spending $$$$. If you were still there, I would say go visit GS on your way out. I hope the boys enjoyed the experience anyway.

This is a random question and apologies if this isn't the thread for this. But can you use Disney gift cards for Savi's lightsabers? I won a 50 dollar Disney gift card from work that I plan to use on my trip next month. I have a Savi reservation as well. I am assuming the total price for the lightsaber would be around 230-235 (that's with tax included) but if I use the 50 dollar gift card I could lower the cost to like 185 or so.

You absolutely can. On our last trip, we paid for everything with gift cards, and Savi's was no exception.

Agreed. I did not go in with them so I did not know until after the fact, but my son was annoyed. And yes, my 21 year old son and my 18 and 19 year old nephews did enjoy themselves. As huge Star Wars fans, they then built droids with my husband two days later.

Yes, we paid with 3 different forms of payment including Disney g.c.'s and taking all the payments was easy for them!

We built lightsabers today (3 of them) and they would not honor the old price despite my reservation being made before the increase. They also said I got an email ten days before the experience reminding me of the price, which I did not. They also said I should have gotten an email when the price was increased so I could cancel the reservation, which I didn't.
I believe Disney refers to this as "magic"

Unfortunately there have been many reports of guests being charged the new price in spite of booking when it was the old price. Disappointing for sure!!

I feel bad for the CMs who have to deal with this. It was really handled very poorly by Disney. They really should have honored the old price for those who had already booked, OR sent a very explicit email noting the price change and the option to cancel.

I was able to get a gift card as a one time courtesy, which I appreciated. Sounds like a lot of blogs had bad information they put out.
We were able to get a g.c. as well. I joked telling G.S. that we were just going to spend it on the trip (plus more!)

Does anyone know what the full price is with tax now? I am 30 days out from my trip now and want to get an idea of the total cost. Is is like 230 with tax?

$234.29 is what I think we paid for each lightsaber
