Saving rows of seats for others in the Walt Disney Theater: Enough Already!!!

Here are a couple of solutions....assigned seats like our dining table assignments or perhaps a Fastpass+ seating system.

Hmmmm, concierge gets center-preferred, 11C gets balcony nose bleeding seats behind poles. Shouldn't those that pay premium prices get premium seats?:confused3

Problem with that is there are not enough seats. I don't think there are enough seats for half the population on a full cruise.

The simplest solution is first come first served. If I'm willing to wait behind a closed theater door and take valuable cruise time then that's the price I pay to ensure my seat of choice.

Why should people not willing to pay the "price" of waiting be afforded the same choice?

I think the more people that complain via comment card or point out offenders in the theater may encourage Disney to enforce this policy. Again, this is regarding people saving multiple seats not parent and child in the bathroom.

No.

Perhaps they should do the seating at the shows like they do at Philharmagic. Telling people as they come in to move all the way down the rows and fill them in. :confused3 As someone said, there are very few bad seats.. Just a thought.

I wouldn't mind seeing some CM's acting as ushers and directing people who are looking for seats into those "saved row" situations.

that's not fair....of course if you threw some opera glasses in for the nose bleed seats it would be more amiable...:rotfl2:

So, we told the lady at the entrance and they promptly told the girls that was not allowed. The teens left mad.....

So funny how people who are breaking rules get mad when they are caught! They should have been apologizing, and their parents should have used this as a lesson in civility.

better yet when the rules breakers cry out "that's not fair!"....:lmao:

What's wrong with first-come, first-served? Or do you think concierge should have an automatic front-of-the-line pass for the Aqua Duck as well?

Not everyone in concierge will want to attend every theatre performance, and they might not want to sit front and center. DH and I like to sit in the back so we don't have to "do" the stairs.

Agreed.

Honestly, front row is REALLY not the best seats in pretty much any theatre - unless the stage and seats are all on the same level. You end up looking up, and missing a lot of the footwork in the dancing.

well- four more months to our cruise....any updates on this?? any horror stories or fist fights over saving seats???

On the Wonder in Alaska there were two kids who would run in on the 8.30 performance and attempt to save the whole preferred front row, they were over powered other cruisers just sat down there, they bit off more than they could handle there.

In Alaska was well during a nature talk an older couple a man and a lady saved four seats around then again in a desirable row, they wouldn't allow anyone to sit there even though the WDT was full and people standing at the back, as the lights went down to start there adult son came up with his son, he started talking as the nature presentation started and he said his son didn't want to stay, so they left, so that was four unused seats saved for two people who didn't want them, with people standing.

its these type of people who should be heckled as they are walking out....

Well the young kids no one took notice of, as soon as they said this row is saved, everyone ignored them and sat down but the older couple the grandparents should know better or be aware of others in the WDT.

It was embarrassing and they didn't seem to care. It would be nice for them to discuss between the family if there all going to it, or use the wave phone. I felt they were just plain rude.

We always arrived 5 or 10 minutes before the shows we wanted to see and had no trouble getting good seats.

I've cruised twice in the past 7 month, once on the Dream and once on the Magic and we didn't notice as many people saving seats as in the past. My mom and I showed up maybe 15 minutes before the shows would start and got really good seats towards the front.
