Saturdays @ SFMM?

We have to decide what days to spend where on our June trip. Is Saturday substantially busier at SFMM than Friday? We are flying into LAX on a Sunday at noon. We have Sunday through Friday morning in a DL Hotel. We plan to do 5 days in DL/DCA, one day touring around, and one day at MM. I could do the touring either Sunday or Friday when we move to a different hotel, but that means we spend a Saturday in MM. If we go right to Disney on Sunday, we could check out of the Disney hotel Friday morning and go right to MM. Then have our sightseeing day on Saturday. But that seems to be a long drive and I'm not sure I want to get up exceptionally early to check out. Whatcha think? Thanks,

MM is going to be crowded probably either day--I do not know however as I don't care for the park so stay away from it! maybe some MM experts will reply. I would rather do Universal but if you like roller coasters then MM is your place to be--just be very watchful of the people around you, they have had lots of trouble with gangs in the past few years--I have heard they are cracking down on it, but no personal experience as I steer clear of that park althogether. hope that helps

I'm 5 minutes away from MM and my son is currently working there. Saturdays have been VERY busy lately. If I had the
choice, I'd go on Friday. School gets out locally on the 6th of June so that will impact the weekday crowds.

I recently had the "safety issue" dicussion with my son. He was commenting that the security has been greatly increased within the past couple of years. Yes, MM has had it's problems, but they haven't had any kind of incident in quite some time. The park has great coasters, (the most in the world!) and the two new coasters have had great reviews...Scream and X. MM is still a very fun park for coaster enthusiasts. It's not as manicured and clean as DL, but it still makes for a very fun day.

MM is safe. I go once a year, and security has their act together. It's true there were some issues a few years back, but that seems to have been resolved.

The other thing I'd throw out to you is that sight seeing in the Los Angeles basin on Friday is probably not a good idea. Getting anywhere on Friday is horrific. There's a reason that L.A. has topped the list for the most traffic congestion in the nation and Friday is the absolute worst day, starting at around Noon and continuing well past 8 p.m. There's no winning this one.

For getting around town, Saturday is the best day, and Sunday sees a return to congestion, although less than Friday.
