Hey, ladies! It's raining here so I am going to have to get creative about what to do with my little charges today. Perhaps I should ask them all what kind of applicators their moms prefer and get myself fired too.

Julie - Happy Anniversary! Ours is coming up on the 17th - but you are ahead of us by a year.

Tricia - are you all having power outtages from the wind? When it gets windy here we lose power in an instant because of all of the trees and above ground power lines.

Wilma, Hang in there! I am amazed at how people can lose their jobs from no fault of there own, just because somebody is enough of a PitA to make it happen. Try to protect yourself and do the best you can not to let the little knot heads drive you to insanity...

I live in League City......it is about halfway between Houston and Galveston.

Whatever Tricia did to the storm just might be working.....it is not gaining strength like they thought.....keep up the good work, Tricia

lol...thanks Tricia. The current report said it might not get to be a cat 3 and will stay a strong cat 2. The storm is causing flooding already and we haven;t even seen any rain. The strom surge is flooding portions of Galveston.

Our local news channel is on all day today. They just said it shouldn't get to be a "3" which is great news. We have coastal flooding and lots of power outages all around. Wind gust are about 50 mph and we are so far away from it. Just goes to show you how strong and powerful those darn hurricanes are. I'm impressed that you still have power Heather. Keep the air down low so if or I should say when the power goes out the house will stay cool longer.

Not in our area. Remember I'm about an hour north maybe a little less from New Orleans. It's not N.O. that's having flooding right now it's the River Parishes. We are getting the wind gusts and bands of rain now. It comes and goes and it's quite scary when it comes. All of the schools in the area right by the Gulf of Mexico have been cancelled.
