Today, I have to visit the Dump. I have never been there, so it will be an adventure. I have large plastic Little Tykes things that have past their useful life. I wonder how bad the place will smell.

I thought I'd try to get us in the mood for the Olympics-that is Chinese for Good Morning! I've been watching all the Travel Channel shows on China this week, and I must say China looks like a fascinating country!! Do you guys ever watch any of Samantha Brown's shows? I have to say she's starting to annoy me a little. She used to be so funny and down to earth, and she just seems to be getting a teensy bit uppity lately. And maybe I'm old-fashioned but it just doesn't seem appropriate to be walking around wearing short shorts and sleeveless and or strapless tops with down to there cleavage in remote Chinese cities that rarely see Westerners. She does have the body for it, and I would probably flaunt it if I had it, too, but not in foreign countries where it just seems disrespectful-KWIM?

My favorite aunt is in town, and I'm taking tomorrow off to spend the day with her and my mom. We're going on a picnic in the mountains (it's supposed to be 113 tomorrow so we're trying to escape the heat).

Becca~I'm not much of an expert on 9 year-olds, but I could send Sholow up to sit on him and drool for a few hours until he decides to behave. Remember he weighs 145 lbs, so I think that may get his attention!! And Sholow would love the cooler weather! Did you enjoy Mamma Mia?

Wilma~you've never been to the dump? You've been deprived! The smell is quite lovely-I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Judi~I'm so glad you're going to take some time for you and Cole and Mr. Judi even if it is only once a month. You all really need it!!

Tricia~have you been watching Days? I think we may finally get some stuff happening instead of just wondering (the whole Nicole/Trent thing and finally some answers about Morgan's dad). Do you like the new John? I think he's hilarious!

Thanks to all the offers to take Brendan off my hands! It has actually straightened him up. I told him look at all these people that would take you and that freaked him out enough to behave today. He was actually well behaved last night with daddy. Maybe he's having too much mommy time all of a sudden.

Angie, have fun with your aunt! One of my favorite aunts lives really close and one lives a few hours away. I don't get to see the one very often, I wish I did.

Wilma, the dump is not a fun place if you ask me. Yuck! We always went to the dump to see the bears when I was a kid on the island my mom grew up on. Bears fun, dump stinky!

Wow, the dump is a stinkier place than I had imagined. However, I am pleased to be rid of 20 pounds of plastic crap! The house feels lighter already. The nice guy who weighs your car before and after dumping gave BamBam a dum-dum, so he's now a big fan of the dump. Dum Dums from the Dump - sounds like a Brittish TV show, doesn't it? Anyway, it now rates higher than the bank because they stopped giving lollipops 2 years ago because so many parents complained about sugar. Now they just give dog biscuits.

Angie - have fun with your aunt! I can't imagine 113 degrees! I like Samantha Brown, but only in small doses. She has become more uppity . You would think she would try to dress respectfully when in a foreign land.

Becca - sadly, I saw no bears at the dump. That would have qualified as high entertainment on a boring day like today. I need a bear infusion!

I think I've only been to the dump once. Anything that needs to go there falls into Mark's department of things he has to do.

We are going to the Zephyr's game tonight. That is our local AAA baseball team. It's the closest thing we have to the Pro's around here. Colin is so excited and of course he already has his glove in the car. Just in case we sit close enough for him to catch a foul ball.

Let me assure you that I wondered for a split second where the dum dums came from, but the guy seemed very clean and they were in the original bag.

Project Runway was good last night! I am not a fan of Suede - why must he speak in third person? I haven't figured out who I like best yet, it takes me a while. Who do you like?

Tricia - DH caught a foul ball at a AAA game once - it was exciting! He gave it to Barney (he was 3 at the time) and now BamBam wonders where his is? Oh, it's just not that easy, little one. Good luck to Colin!

I can't stand that! Suede thinks this and Suede thinks that. Drives me insane!!!! I like Kelly and the guy who made the dress out of plastic cups in the first episode. I don't like Blayne that much, he's too plasticated. Stella is another I don't care for a lot. The rest I have no opinion yet really.

Becca - could Brendan's behavior be swimming withdrawal? I swear, these kids get addicted to the endorphin high it brings! I was thinking about him today when BamBam began to get a bit ornery. I wondered if the "ornery kid virus" had infected our thread. He asked to go swim for a while, actually chose to do some drills and is now happy as a lark. So, maybe it's not too much Mommy, but too little H20!

Bonnie - I am still waiting for my Krackel bar. The UPS man has come and gone. Get on the stick, lady!

I think you may be on to something there! He isn't a kid to sit down much and when he was swimming a lot he was wonderfully behaved. Brian is going to start taking the boys to open swim a few times a week. We don't have a community pool in the neighborhood. Today I found little things for him to do and he was a different child. I would love to put in a big pool someday for them, but being in Michigan we can't use it many months so I don't know.

I'm right there with ya, Becca! We send Barney to camp his first week out of swim season for that self-same reason. It's like methadone for the swimming addicted - keep him busy from 7am-10pm at camp and he eases out of the swimming routine much easier. If he's home, he drives us (and himself) crazy! Poor kid!

Honestly, he only spends about 2 weeks out of the water - that's about how long he can stand it. Then, he goes and just does kickboard drills or turns, just something to keep him sane.

Good morning, Sassy ones! This is (hopefully) my last day taking care of the neighbors rabbit and cats. The rabbit is fine, the cats are on my list. They keep "missing" the litter box, even though I am scooping the thing out 3 times a day! Perhaps I should paint their behinds stripey, and see what they think about that!

I have to go to school today and meet with one of my team teachers. Reality is setting in, even though I keep pushing it out Then, we pick up Barney from camp this evening. I've missed that little dude!

What did you think of that Project Runway, Becca? I thought that blue/white "clockface" dress was butt ugly. I really likes the green/gray evening gown thingy. What about you?

Good morning Sassy Somethings! Tonight is the night. Brian and I are going to see The Mummy 3 and then heading over to Barnes and Noble to buy Breaking Dawn. I hope it's not too crazy there, I never did any of the Harry Potter parties and all I want to do is buy the book and get the heck out of there.

Judi, the cats are a gas! I was rolling!

Wilma, I think either of them deserved to go. The clock dress was hideous! I don't sew at all and I think I could have done a better job, yuck! The cha cha dress wasn't good either. Stella makes me crazy with her "leather" and accent. We know she does rock n roll, but it's so 80s rock n roll. I really liked Leannes outfit though, I thought she should have won.

Wilma how long has Barney been at camp? I know I missed Kendall a lot and she was only gone four days.


We had a really good time at the baseball game last night. The game itself was rather boring but it was fun watching Colin because he was so excited. Of course he didn't catch a foul ball but he didn't take his glove off either. Just in case!
