Sassy Somethings - Happy November

I want to rent Mario Kart and the Lego Indiana Jones game. I am having to set a timer to get the kids to take turns. Trying to get a 3 year old to take turns is enough to drive me to drink:headache:

Most of my Wii playing is after I get the kids to bed:rolleyes:

Here Heather, I'll join you.

Howdy, Sassies! Is everyone gone for the morning? I am having my ten minute rest and then it's out for the day's errands. Barney did double practices this morning and I had to get BamBam across town for his art camp so the morning was hectic. We are hosting an Olympic Trials party for the swim team tonight and preparing to go to NY/NJ Wed-Sun so there is lots to do.

Heather - We have never rented games before. Please don't tell Barney or it will become another thing I have to fit in my schedule.:rotfl: No can do, Barney-man. I can't believe Joey will be 4 so soon!

Becca - I hear you on the Aerosmith thing! I don't know if I can hold Barney off on buying it on his own long enough to get it for Christmas, though. It looks like fun! Barney is a Micheal Phelps fan too, but probably an even bigger Ian Crocker fan. Ian is the best at 100 Fly (Barney's best event) and he loves to jam on his guitar. Plus, he's ADD too and had to overcome a lot to be where he is. Katie Hoff swam beautifully last night! The women are going to need amazing swims, there's some good international competition out there for them.

Bonnie - I am fan of the fountain drink over the bottle/can too. It tastes so much better! Plus, I burp less and that is always a plus.

Tricia - I thought you could jump 27 feet in your sleep.;) Did you see that pole vaulting? My boys were digging that!

Judi, Julie and Kimmy - aloha! What's up?

Angie - I am getting fed up with FNS - there are so many "chefs" there who don't seem to know food! That's ridiculous! I would think that would be a requirement, don't you?:confused3

Hope to see you all this afternoon!

Good morning Sassies! I for one am VERY glad it's a four day work week.

Friday night at around 1:30am our female dog Sierra jumps up on the bed and snuggles up next to me. She never does that, so I woke myself up and then I heard one of the smoke detectors was beeping (she was scared). It was just the beep they do when the batteries are low. But it took me like 2 hours to get back to sleep! Don't you just hate lying there and not being able to fall asleep?? So Saturday night I slept for 9 1/2 hours!

Do you guys have big plans for the 4th? It's too stinkin' hot here to go watch the fireworks, but we have a baseball spring training stadium pretty close to our house and we can see their fireworks from our house. So we can sit in the A/C and watch them. Not quite the same, but I'm not really up for sitting out in 105 degree temps to watch them up close!

We watched the Spiderwick Chronicles this weekend-I thought it was pretty cute. Does anyone know if this is a series, or will there just be one movie?

Wilma, sounds like you have a busy week and weekend planned! You never get to rest lady!

Angie, are those fires near you? Spiderwick Chronicles is a series, but I don't know if they are going to do any more movies. I haven't heard. We rented it this weekend too, we saw it at the theater but the boys wanted to see it again. BTW, 10,000 BC wasn't as bad as I feared, but not good enough to see at the theater.

I know I've been quiet about the issue lately. It's just hard for me at times.

Your google word of the day is malabsorption. It causes 1/3 of cancer deaths.
Her cancer is stage 3, which means spreading was involved. At this time, radiation & chemo are not an option. She is too weak to handle it.

She is on meds for the malabsorption, but they are not working. I have another call into the oncologist.

I have explained to Cole, were this issue ever to arise with me, to place me in a home, for it does affect the caregiver's health and family.

Right now, I need the wisdom to know the difference. And a weeks vacation at Disney.

Thanks for your ear.

Judi

Judi~I'm SO sorry!! I wish there was something I could do. Is putting your mom in a home an option for you? I can only guess how that would make you feel, but you have yourself and your husband and daughter to think about, too. How are they dealing with it? I'm sure this must be very hard on Cole. Are you thinking of sending her to visit Becca this summer? I'm sure she would have a lot of fun there. Maybe you'll get to come next February! I'm still hoping. :hippie: We are always here to listen. :flower3:

There is one burning in Phoenix, but it is pretty far south of us. The smoke plume is amazing-you can see it for miles. You'd think there wouldn't be much to burn in the desert, but we have lots of scraggly looking bushes and little trees that are usually extremely dry. The other fire is north of us in the mountains. It's so sad when there is a fire in the mountains here-that's where we go to see trees and green!! Now it will be black and ugly for years! :sad1:

Haggedy doo dahs!! :hippie:

Done with the dentist, and since Ains can only have soft foods today, she requested KFC, which we stopped and got. I am snarfing whilst I type. So much for wanting to turn over a new leaf. The leaf is turning, just super slowly!

Today Victoria made me a plate of homemade brownies. Super sweet of her, no? However, they are black as pitch! I am afeered to eat things that are not their proper color. I'm gonna have the girls bet he guinea pigs and "eat the red berries". If they survive, then perhaps I'll give 'em a whirl. :teeth:

Uh...are you forgetting that I have taken sup with you TWICE now? If that was what you call burping less, I hope you NEVER drink from a can in my presence. :scared1:

;) :rotfl:

What are you doing in NY/NJ? I have never been to either place and I am curious as to what people do when they go there. Sorry to be nosey, but you know how I am by now. :)

Judi  I can imagine that this is an extremely difficult time for you, but I know your mom appreciates all you do for her. And I think you will always be glad you were here for her in her time of need. :grouphug:

Hi Angie! We still have not made plans for the 4th. My brother mentioned attending the fireworks at the army base, but we dont know for sure yet.

We never saw Spiderwick Chronicles, my girls had no interest in seeing it. But I trust your judgement, I may just rent it on Netflix for my own viewing pleasure!

How are you today, hag?

Just like Yellowstone! :guilty:

Sorry about the fires. Can you totally smell the smoke? When Southern Calif had forest fires, we could see and smell the smoke clear over in Vegas. It was BAD...I can't imagine how those poor people who lived right there close to it felt!

Hi Bonnie!

I can't get my leaf to turn over either.

We don't have any big plans for the 4th either. I think we will possibly watch fireworks on TV too. It is not alot of fun to watch when the weather is so hot and humid. Plus with all the rain we have had lately the mosquitos are out full force.:scared1:

Hi Heather! :wave2: How's it going, lady? What are you up to today?

I think we will stay home the rest of today. Except we might go to the library. :goodvibes

My dog ate one of my library books.:headache:

We are just going to hang out at home today. We are in Wii mode:rotfl2: So we are mostly playing games.

Am I the only person who just can't get into video games? My DH and girls love them...I just have no iterest. Except for Ms. Pac man, I love that game. Too bad we don't own that.

Have you ever traveled outside the U.S.?

I've never traveled outside the US unless you count the time we briefly stepped over the us/Canadian border while we were in Glacier National Park:laughing:

I like mostly old school games like Ms Pacman too. And old school Frogger is my fave. Some of the new games are just too difficult for me.

The kids want to run to the corner store for treats so I will talk to you later:wave:

Bye Heather! :wave2:]

And yes, I have traveled to Mexico and the Caribbean. But I wanna go to Europe. Waaaah!! :sad1:

I've only been to Mexico-not even Canada! There are so many places I would love to see outside of the US. We even got out passports a few years ago just in case, but we still haven't used them. And with the current euro/pound/dollar exchange rate we won't be going to Europe any time soon.
I would love to go to Australia and New Zealand, also. My BIL just went on a 28 day cruise and land tour there-I was so jealous. It looks absolutely gorgeous! My DH's dream vacay would be to Egypt. He's fascinated with the ancient Egyptians.
