Our friends @wdrl and @tjkraz have their monthly report here:

https://dvcnews.com/dvc-program-men...lub-direct-sales-slow-but-steady-in-june-2025

My takeaways...
- 2 Biggest contracts were sold at resorts not under active sales (VGF & CCV) - not sure what that means, but it is of note to me.
- RIV is probably not too far from the final declaration. Glad it will be going there and not into the Palmetto Trust. I think it will be sold out before LSL is sold.
- Cabins sales are anemic... LSL may help, but if Cabins are a part of it, that would make me personally less inclined to buy there. Why would I want millions of points tied up in a product I have no interest in staying.

Thanks to the DVCNews team for this great reporting.

To reach 95% sold for Riviera (excluding the points Disney has received back), there are 1.1 million points needing to be sold. If they averaged (50k) per month it would take 22 more months. 50k is slightly higher than the last several months.
Similarly, if they sold 97% before declaring the resort sold out, averaging 50k would put it at 24 months.

There are obviously several thousand points in deeds sold already under contract but will not show for days to roughly two months.

I think it is a good thing they introduced better incentives.

Just saw a post on FB from a member who is currently on the Wonder. The person mentioned that at the DVC celebration on the ship they shared that they just "released the final Riv inventory before it is sold out." Sounds sort of inconsistent with the article.

Edited for a typo.

Do you think they'll have one more declaration or that was the last one?

With reports that its been a slow summer, be interesting to see what changes if any that yields in the coming month or two. Would think sales would take a dip from this current level.

Unless the usual DVC reporting channels are asleep at the switch....and DVC made another declaration less than two months after the most recent one in May...I'd file this under "Timeshare Sales Agent Stretching the Truth."
Agreed. I was surprised to hear the report, given the sales numbers. Maybe it was a misinterpretation as well, like meant to be penultimate?

Because of a lag from the date they put on the declaration to the time it takes to be recorded on the county comptroller website, it is possible DVD has started the last Riviera declaration.

For example, the last Riviera declaration paperwork shows May 15, 2025. It did not appear on the county comptroller website until May 23, 2025. This can vary between declarations.

At this point, there is no new Riviera declaration on the comptroller website.

For perspective (using @wdrl and @tjkraz) articles on dvcnews.com. Riviera 6,739,966 total resort points. If 95% sold is when they declare sold out, that means dvcnews data will show 6,402,968 points sold.
Edit: Disney can declare points at any time. They could even say a resort is sold out at any time. That does not mean they have actually sold 98% of all points for the resort. They could decide they want to keep 5%, 10%, etc. As an example, I believe BWV still has a room they can use to show people. That means they never sold those points in that room.

I think the gift card rebate on new APs is a pretty strong signal that The Powers That Be are starting to look to the passholder community to take up its traditional role as shock abosrber, to soak up some of what would otherwise be an attendance decline.

Relatedly, there is some preliminary data that suggests regional theme parks are also not doing so well this summer.

Did I read that right? Someone bought a 900pt CCV contract with no incentives?

Especially sad because cabins are available at 7 months pretty easily... Can't imagine they'd be buying a contract that size for studios...

I’m mean I’ve heard it pretty great at Christmas. 🤣
On the surface, it looks ridiculous and hard to believe. However, if it's someone who regularly goes there and has for decades, I can see them just thinking of it as a vacation home. The reality is, many FW diehards spend every Halloween, every Christmas and other regularly scheduled visits there. Many of them are pissed at Disney for building Lakeshore. This gives them a vacation home in their vacation spot without feeling like they paid Disney after Disney destroyed their campground (their opinion, not mine).

We bought a membership in a local campground decades ago. At the time, we tent camped. When it got sold to a corporation, the corporation put in cottages to lure people to buy memberships. Guess who always wanted to stay in a cottage after those were installed. :p We aren't regularly visiting there, but I think if it were a FW and as close as it is to us, we'd for sure spend every available moment there.
Because of a lag from the date they put on the declaration to the time it takes to be recorded on the county comptroller website, it is possible DVD has started the last Riviera declaration.
This is the kind of thing that I don't need to know about after finding out I could buy a 25 point contract. I guess the good news is that 25 points is only good for about one night per year, which is actually kind of worthless for me at this point.
