Hi,

I'm new here. Will arrive at SSR on Sunday but we are not DVC members. We booked the trip online at Disney.com and have a 2BR villa.

Just wondering about cleanliness and housekeeping. Is this treated as a hotel room since we are not DVC members? Does housekeeping come in before each new guest and clean up? I read a post about someone finding an empty water bottle under the table when they arrived at their room.

I would appreciate any info and/or suggestions.

Thanks!

since you went through Disney.com and not a DVC member. You will get full housekeeping.

now be prepared to remind them.

I am pretty sure that the housekeeping rules are the same at SSR whether you are a vacation club member or not. I'm a new DVC'er so I'm sure someone with more experience will weigh-in, but I think housekeeping comes every fourth day.

We are DVC members and our experience at SSR for NYE week was outstanding. Any resort can, and will, have a housekeeping glitch every now and then but I would not worry. Mousekeeping always cleans between guests.

Since you are booked thru central reservations, I bleive that you receive daily housekeeping just as if you had booked a room at the POly, Contemporary, etc. Someone please correct me if I am incorrect on that fact. If you had rented points from a member, or were a member yourself, then you would have limited housekeeping during your stay.

Again, I would not worry but if something is not satisfactory please contact the front desk immediately so that they can correct it for you.

I hope that you love SSR as much as we do. We cant wait to go back, it is a beautiful place!

Sorry when you book through Disney - it is housekeeping daily. If you don't believe me - call MS and ask them.

believe me - go look at the prices they are paying for booking through Disney.

Thank you all for your replies.

Now, another question. I heard the Grandstand is only for DVC members. Which other areas would you suggest I request to be close to Downtown Disney and a pool? I was thinking Congress Park in the 2000 buildings. What do you think?

Thanks again!

I have never heard of this stipulation. :confused3 Someone else may know of its accuracy but I would doubt that any section is reserved for members.

We were in Carousel a few weeks ago and really loved it but we will request The Spring for our next trip. we enojyed the NYE festivities in the Congress Park area and it had great views of DTD.

Any section at SSR is available for Disney cash guests. Each of the sections has a pool except for Carousel since it is a bit smaller and close to the High Springs pool near the Springs. It's also not that far from the Paddock pool.

Congress Park is the closest to DTD. Its about a 10 minute walk. Its about 5 minutes (if that) from the main pool. We are DVC members and that is our home resort and we loved it! We stayed during Presidents week last Feb and never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus. Do not worry about Mousekeeping. They will fix any problems you have. Enjoy your trip.

You are going to LOVE SSR, especially a 2 bedroom. We were there last May and are heading back this May. The rooms are spacious, clean and come equipped with almost every appliance you have in your home. Any section is open to any guest, not just DVC members. (Which we are) You have access to every amenity at the resort.

Congress park has great views of Downtown Disney. At night, you can sit out on your balcony and hear the music coming from Pleasure Island. But when you close those doors, you won't hear a thing. Be careful of which section in congress park you choose because the map is deceiving. The buildings furthest away from the check-in desk are quite a hike to walk every day. The Springs is the most centrally located area but can be quite busy. They have beautiful views of the fountains and wildlife. Many otters and rabbits about. The Grandstand Section has views of the golf course. If you won't have a car, the last place you want to be in is the Carousel section because it's waaaaaay far away from the main pool area.

Enjoy your stay at SSR. I'm sure you'll stay there more than once!:goodvibes

We were originally booked at CSR but changed to SSR when we found out mil could come with us! She needs a place she can sit and watch t.v. while knitting and have a kitchen. She has some special needs but we are so so excited to have her. She'll do the parks with us but not at our pace! She'll rest alot more. We still plan to go to CSR, maybe Christmas season.

I'm happy to read such nice things about SSR. We also have a 2 bdrm booked.

I love Disney!

We booked SSR through Disney last August. We stayed in Grandstand and enjoyed that section very much. It is the first stop on and off the buses. No sections are reserved just for DvC members. We also had daily housekeeping. The service was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay at SSR.
