We had to change from Wilderness Lodge to SSR- Bad because I like familiar and love the Lodge! But great because we now have a 2 bedroom villa! We won't have a lot of time away from the parks, but don't want to miss anything special or unique at the SSR . All girl trip 20-71, but we won't be visiting the spa. Any thing else that is a must do or see? Or just hints to make this trip be extra magical?

all girls - well guess what you can walk to or take the boat - DTD!!!

so yea partying all night at PI is definitely doability.

you can actually walk back to your room - okay if you get the Congress House section.

or take the bus. the boat stops before PI quits for the night.

if your bunch is walkers they will love SSR. beautiful and a great place to walk or jog.

I haven't been able to find anything "not to be missed" at SSR......

Nothing IMHO to like......

Thanks for the info spiceycat, and neverenoughwdw. I assumed it's not a first choice for many, since it was the only thing I could get after plans changed. But anything will be ok at DisneyWorld! And we each get our own "space" I've read trip reports where people love it there. I guess I might reread those! Maybe I should have said -positive replies only! I was already bummed about cancelling the Wilderness Lodge.

SSR is great! And a 2br villa is even better!

The Springs pool is very nice. Zero entry with a waterslide and a Donald Duck splash area. We love relaxing in the lounge chairs with a fruity cocktail and watching the kids have a blast in the pool.

The rooms themselves are absolutely lovely. Very tasefully decorated and well appointed. You will love the washer and dryer as well as the jacuzzi tub. Don't forget about the full kitchen. It comes in very handy.

The grounds are vey well maintained, with walking paths and fountains that make strolling enjoyable also.

We really like Artist's Pallette(counter service) and The Turf Club (table service). The boat to DTD is an added bonus. Oh, if you have a car parking outside the villa buildings is quite convenient.

I am sure you will have a great time.

No worries!

Thanks for the reassurance. My Mom loves to stroll and I'm sure we will enjoy the extra room! I am so excited to have the space as my mom is an early riser and we are not! And a fruity cocktail sounds great!

We stayed there this summer and, also had a 2 bedroom suite. It was a great place to stay, the pool is excellent and the Artist's Palette was great (I recommend the Barbecued Pork Flatbread:thumbsup2 ). It was a nice place to go back to after long days at the crowded park. Also, you can hop a boat or walk to Downtown Disney in your off times. We would take a break each afternoon from the parks and it was a great place to recharge the batteries for the evening.

I see that you mom is an early riser too. The are many paths to take a nice walk around in the morning too ( If she like to do that kind of thing). The place is very well landscaped and, it is a nice way to start the morning before heading out to the parks.

What makes a good resort at Disney varies with different people, I think you have to make your own decision on that. I enjoyed it very much and would stay there again if I could. Have a great time on your vacation:) .
