Sarah & Bobby's 11-13-11 WP/GF--Completed--ALL PHOTO LINKS FIXED!

Thanks for all of the kind words everyone!! I appreciate them! Ive been working quite diligently since graduation and have mailed out our first packets including the 6 page newsletter, luggage tag, save the date, and the pre rsvp. (although my dumb*** forgot to leave a space for someones name on the prersvp and so now theyll send it in and i wont know who it is that is or isnt coming..arrrgh :headache:) I feel so much better knowing it is all out and taken care of. I mailed them in big white catalog envelopes since they looked a lot nicer that way i think.

Ive got our wedding website up and working, if youd like to see it PM me and I can give you my name or add you on facebook so you can see it. although its kind of a pain bc you can only invite 40 people per day and ive got about 60 or 70 to invite on facebook, not including email..so its a headache. and really confusing too!

I picked up my dress the other day after getting the bustle done and I will need to havethe dress taken in at my waist because it is pooching where the extra fabric is on my back above my butt area..not cute!

my shoes are too high..this is so depressing. they are fabulous and im bummed. so i will be selling them since theyre brand new and all. if anyones interested let me know. they are a size 7! white with diamond studs on the heel, the picture is here somewhre..im too lazy to link it right now..maybe later...lol.

i am joining a gym tonight and will probably hate myself for it for a while..but in the long run im praying its worth it..somethings gotta give. i really need to tone and tighten and shrink..haha.

the bridal shower went awesome last weekend, i will post pics when i get them. its been soo hectic here lately, im still collecting my thoughts a bit.

thats all i can think of right now, ill keep thinking for new developments. Talk to you all soon! :grouphug:

Hopefully if they don't write their names on your PreRSVP, they will write them on the return address...so make sure you keep the envelopes. Even if they don't write their names, maybe you can figure it out by their address. There is still hope!

Did you put a space for them to leave a number that is potentially going to attend?

Well I've been a little MIA lately...BUT I have been hard at work trying to get some things sorted and settled!

I have been thinking about the general flow of our scheduled wedding day. As of now we have it as
2:30-ceremony
3:30 pre-reception
4:30-reception begins
8:30-ish, were not positive but sometime during the reception Wishes will be shown and we will go out to Whitehall to watch the fireworks and probably end the reception early

Since Ive been thinking and all, which may not always be a good thing..:rotfl: It seems as though we are selling the reception short for a few fireworks, and possibly not the best seen ones either! Ive read that from Whitehall you can only see the biggest fireworks and trees are in the way. So Im re-evaluating. DF and I agree that the night before the wedding is a much more logical alternative. So I spoke to my planner and see what is still available for that Saturday night. We are holding Terrace les Fleurs (French Upper) for Illuminations as well as The Grand Floridian Marina for Wishes. We will make the decision on which one to choose one the fireworks schedule is set in stone 6 months out. The pros and cons to both locations really are about equal and we are having a hard time deciding which is our preference. Also the same Saturday last year Wishes was at 10pm, too late for us to have a DP the night before the wedding. It was bc of MVMCP and it may not be held that night again but you never really know. Its a lot to think about! Here is my list of pros and cons for DP locations. Please help add or subtract items from my list for choosing purposes

France (photos here)

Its not the absolute lowest one but the one just below the staircases with the little garden thingies..idk what theyre called.

Pros:
Up close and personal to fireworks (kids would LOOOVE this)
Cheaper Menus
Beautiful Location..I just love it!

Cons:
Viewing fee for those without park tickets
Its in a park, not sure how some would feel about this

Marina
Im sure youve all seen these photos, but just to jazz up the post here you are.

marina2.jpg

Pros:
More private location
You can see the castle, duh!
GF is kinda our home base, since WP and reception are held "there"

Cons:
Music Piped in
More expensive menus
(Potentially a later time?--unsure at this time)

Basically I think the cost of viewing fees versus piping in music and more expensive menus would almost cancel each other out and end up being very close. What is everyone else's thoughts? Honesty please!!

Oh and we will have to have an earlier Rehearsal Dinner to allow for DP. I mentioned it to DF and showed pics of DPs and I think he started to understand..he was like, "Oh thats pretty nice!" and "MMM that looks good!" so hes getting into it and I am oh so happy about it! I think his mom is starting to rethink RD locations as well. So it may or may not be Texas de Brazil anymore...Ive made some suggestions.:rolleyes1 Ahem, BlueZoo, Shulas, Il Mulino, Flying Fish, Narcoossees, Cali Grill, Brown Derby, etc..you get the idea. ;)

Ive decided on favors, well for this week at least.. Personalized stemless wine glasses! Something similar to this. Some of the reviews Ive read say that the script comes out small so Im trying to find some with better reviews. As of now this is what we've got!

I am signing a contract and sending a deposit away tomorrow for a string trio to work with the organist during the ceremony and then the trio will play for our cocktail hour. Im going to have them play some classical but A LOT of modern hits! Im really excited about them! :woohoo: And I got them for a KILLER price! It beats the published price by almost 1000 buckaroos! This is not the company but another really popular one here in Houston, just a little idea of what it will sound like. Enjoy!

Not sure if I posted this or not but we want to have columns with chiffon draped at the ceremony down the aisle. I would love candelabras but Idk if I can use them with my silk floral we've made..extremely doubtful and really i cant afford them with real flowers in them. And I don't know that an outside vendor would let us either. If not, no biggie we just keep our plan as is. With the centerpieces on the columns and moving them to the reception. Inspiration photos:

Its actually pretty funny, the girl I stole these photos from and got the idea from is someone who was planning her wedding about 3 or 4 years ago when I first got turned on to really planning a DFTW...I think it was right after I joined. I would sign in everyday and read a few girls' PJs and really just drool and dream, who knew I would really get my dreams! Im so happy!

Im not sure about cocktail hour decor...and I dont think Im ready to even think about it at this point! lol...THAT can wait!

We found a company to do uplighting in the ballrooms for 1/3 of Disneys proposed cost! So we are going with them in addition to the small package that comes with the DJ. DF and Mom are gung-ho for blue lighting and really its not a battle for me. If thats just one of the things he wants, he can have his blue lighting! haha. Photos just for fun..

I found someone that we will rent silver beaded chargers from for the reception, instead of going through disney. She is renting them to me for $ .80 per charger! Its great!

Also, thanks to Amanda (Sccrmnky2005..woohoo thanks girl ) I will be renting Chiavari Chairs from A Little Flower Shop for $5/chair! Im signing the contract at 100 just in case a lot of people show and if we have a ton extra maybe we can use them for the pre reception or I will just cancel the extras and save some $$. Here's a picture, and its actually just about everything I want! I love the candelabras, floral chairs, and everything.. Its gorgeous!!

Hmmm..what else? Weve got Rev. Jack Day, STVS for Videography, our Photographer is all settled. Ive been looking at cakes lately, and I found a few more favs. Theyre all pretty similar to what Ive been leaning towards, so that doesnt really help. This is a tough choice!

We sent out our first packets. Newsletters, Save the Dates, Pre-RSVPs, and Luggage Tags. The Pre RSVPs are slowly coming back in. Oh man, when we were finalizing the guest list that thing creeped up reeeaaaalll fast! Its at approx. 150 right now.:scared1: EEEK! Granted Ive got a lot of family but still! So as of today we are estimating a group of about 85 for the wedding. We will see how that turns out.

Also, I looked into menus and how to cut costs in Carries book and read about using a rehearsal dinner menu instead of a reception menu. We like the Lady and the Tramp one but would substitute the Spaghetti and Meatballs for something else, maybe Lasagna or a beef? Also Im not sure if this can be done as a plated meal or if we would need to do a buffet? Do buffet's really save that much $$? Since DF is Italian and all Im pretty sure his family will like it too!

My MOHS/Cousins are throwing me a bridal shower in July (since none of us live in the same city its giving everyone plenty of time) so Im really excited about that! I am throwing a bachelorette party for my BFF in two weeks out of town and that should be a lot of fun! I bought 2 really cute dresses for our nights out on the town! Im still looking for new shoes, the ones I bought are too high for my petite dress I ordered..darn it! :headache: So the search is on..Also looking at dates for our PS in July or August and will hopefully book that soon. I think this is the biggest update yet..let me know if i missed anything.. I'll keep updating as the updates come. Sorry for not a lot of pictures..Maybe Ill add some later!

Okay, I updated with some pictures to add some fun if anyone's still with me? Maybe its a sign I should update more often..:sad2:

Everything looks fantastic! I bet you can't believe theres only 10 months left! How exciting! I love all your photos and planning ideas!!!

I have a while yet... May 2012!

Keep us updated love reading your thread! :thumbsup2 XX

I LOVE all your updates and YAY for a dessert party!!! I think it is a great decision to add it, it will really make your wedding memorable and unique.

Who are you using for your lighting? And would you mind sharing how much that costs? If you dont want to post it can you send it in a PM. This is something that I really want but thought that it was out of my reach.

Hey Sarah! Love all your new updates! Your timeline looks very similar to what mine will be. I think it will all flow nicely. Those favors are really cute, and everything is really coming along beautifully! Your guests are going to love the dessert party too!

Love love love love your save the dates! They're gorgeous. Very elegant and simple with a hint of Disney! That's what we're going for too!

Love your aisle runner too! I want to make one so bad, but we're doing an outdoor ceremony on the beach so they recommend not having one. Wah!

Your engagement photos are beautiful too! I love the video and the song! Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!

We are going with Get Lit Orlando, their packages are on the website here and they have great prices. My mom spoke with him last week and since we dont know much about uplighting and we just told him what kind of look were going for, I think he's going out to the GFballrooms to measure them and then give us an estimate on what he thinks would be best for the look we want. We also told him we are on a budget and I think he is open to working with us on that, too! Its great! I think the guy my mom spoke to was Byron. HTH! :goodvibes

Looks good! :thumbsup2

I am still here!!popcorn::

Haha thanks! I really should update more but I cant decide whether its easier all at once or in little installments. Now that we are really getting the ball rolling I think they will start coming more often! :cutie:

Thanks Marisa! I really think that moving our DP from after the reception to the night before will create more excitement and memories around our wedding, which in the end is what we want. All of our families dont really get together in the masses that often so were hoping to bring them all together and change that a bit.

Im also thinking of doing separate favors for the men and women. Like maybe a pair of glasses for the women and something else for the men..just not sure on what that will be yet. Let me know if you have any ideas!

Everything looks wonderful!!!! Your wedding is going to be BEAUTIFUL!!!

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Thanks Squeakrr! Yeah, I love Disney but DF isnt as "passionate" as I am..he just got tired of me begging for a DFTW and gave in. He really doesnt want it Disney at all, so Ive got to sneak a few hints of it in every once in a while!

So Ive got a phone meeting with my planner Lisa in a couple of hours. We are going to try and get a bunch of my questions answered that are related to forming our budget. Of course we have a rough one now, but now that Im graduated and working I really want to have something worked out so I can figure just how much I need to save per month, etc. I think Im probably the only bride to ask this of her planner and I feel a little bad about it since a lot of it you do at your PS but since were trying to save money wherever we can we will probably be using outside vendors wherever possible. BUT if Disney's price is better than by all means we'll go with them and just keep it easy. Its pretty much research time for pricing..am I alone in this? Has anyone else ever asked this kind of stuff so early? (well were 9 months out, idk how early it is?)

I think thats all Ive got for now again. I'll update you all after our phone meeting today. Wish me luck! :wizard:

Not at all!! The earlier you start the more prepared you will be!!! And we figured out all of our costs and how much we had to save well ahead of time. It's a very smart thing to do. And good luck!!!:wizard:

I love your dress!!!! So beautiful!!!

I love the decor as well, you would never know it is DIY!!! I'm really impressed. It makes me feel inspired that I maybe could actually make something look that nice.

I also LOVE the logo that you use everywhere. It makes all of your stuff look so elegant and pulled together!

Thanks Brittany! At first I was really worried that it would look really cheap and tacky but my mom came through and wowed me. She made all of the centerpieces, the only part I had in it was clipping the long stems from the roses..haha!! She did a great job on them!! (Hi Mom! :flower3:) And by doing them ourselves it created more room in the budget for other fun stuff! You should at least try to make one thing for your wedding and then move up from that, itll personalize it more and you will be more emotionally invested in your day! The logo that Dolly created for me is definitely one of my favorite things throughout the wedding as well! Its so "me" and really fits the look I was going for. And thank you for the compliment on my dress, I love it soo much! Now I just need to find my dream shoes!

Wow, tons of new stuff going on for you! It is so great to finally get some of that stuff done and out of the way. I am so sad for your shoe loss lol It is a terrible thing, and they are really pretty shoes :( Also, I love the favours! I would be so happy with a stemless wine glass as a favour! Something I would use and that would be a reminder of the wedding day, great pick!

Hi Sarah, loving your plans! Can't wait to hear more! :) and thanks for stopping by my PJ too :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes

Thank you! I thought so too, and DF said the same thing! Its the first favor we came to an agreement on that I didnt halfheartedly think were cheesy. And my shoes..my poor poor shoes...Im so bummed. Everything I search for online doesnt completely meet my requirements or theyre too tall. Arrgh! Im a serious HIGH HIGH heel sucker, Im only 5 feet tall so I get the height when I can!!....I think every pair I own are at least 4 inches....way over my wedding shoe heel limit..depressing. Thanks for following along, hopefully some good updates are in my future..lol

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO jealous you have these! I want them so badly! DFTW has a cake server set that has the carriage on them. They don't match exactly, but it was as close as I could find!

Hey Andrea! Yeah my mom and I bought them last May when we went down for our site visit. Im pretty sure they were one of the last few pair in MK. And the GF didnt have anymore either. The first box we bought we had delivered to our hotel, but the stem on one was broken. So I called and got a replacement. Then we went back to look for the cake set, and they were totally out..nowhere to be found anywhere in the "world"...i am still bummed!:sad2: I still check about once a week on ebay for them..lol
