I found this in the yard and garden section at Hobby Lobby for $49.99 and used a 40% off coupon. I paid $30.00. It's so adorable. It will be perfect for a little girl's room after the wedding or you can use as a planter but I think it's too cute to be outdoor's.

I'm planning some optional events that our guests are invited to, but that I'm not covering the cost of. We are doing a "stag" and "hen" party the first night -- basically we are going to have dinner on the Boardwalk and then head out to some of the bars.
The next day we are drinking around the world in Epcot. I was actually really surprised at how popular this has become with our guests. I made it really clear that everyone would need to purchase a theme park ticket for the day. I thought only a handful of people would want to do it, but almost everyone has signed up for it!
We are doing a "welcome reception" at Sago Cay after the rehearsal dinner. I am having a cash bar and a few desserts. Everyone seems really cool with having to pay for some stuff.
First things first, Im a DISbride failure..I know Ive been MIA lately. Work and BFFs wedding have kept me a very very very busy girl!![]()
Thank you to all my carriage card holder lovers! Im really excited about it--DF not so much. If you could have seen the look he gave me when he saw it, you might roll over and die from laughing so hard! He'll get over it though...Im not giving him another choice. In recent news, Ive booked Beaute Speciale for my trial while were down for our PS, booked the lighting company, and also starting to look for flights and hotel for our PS. I cant decide if we should go frugal and stay at a value since we need to save for the wedding or maybe splurge a little as it will be the only vacay we have this year besides the wedding...thoughts? We are only going to be there for 3 nights. Our tickets wont cost us anything since we have AP's, and really flight and food is the only leftover expense. I dont know, I cant decide what I want!
Ive started visiting the tanning bed to get some color for my BFFs wedding, which is NEXT WEEKEND!!Holy Moly I cant believe its this soon! Im starting to stress a little and if Im this stressed for her wedding I dont want to know how I will be for my own! Eeesh! Anyways--back on track--Ive started tanning. I have light blonde hair and every time someone would snap a picture my skin would match my hair color almost...not exactly a good look for me. So Im pretty pleased now that I dont look so vampire-esque. Especially because the dress I will wear for BFF's wedding is like an electric blue.
Last time I spoke to my planner she mentioned that I didnt necessarily need an additional event for my guests, and since I am on such a budget it kind of contradicts my plan. I couldnt agree with her more, but I am worried about my guests feeling as though they were jipped (sp?) or that they traveled all the way to Florida for a ballroom reception where they could have done that at home or something..know what I mean? So my question is this..do I eat the extra $$$ and do an additional event or save it and skimp? Anyones thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I really see both sides but am stumped on what to do.
Other than those few things Im pretty much chillin..nothing really on the wedding front lately. Hope you all have a wonderful Mardi Gras weekend, Im extremely sad Im not in New Orleans this weekend to celebrate...so I'll leave yall with this, as its all Ive got to get me by... "Laissez les bon temps rouler!"--Let the good times roll!
Our aisle runner is done. The print is a bit small, but with petals on both sides I think it should be fine. It will be understated and classy. Sorry for the crappy phone pictures.

I need to go and get my dress from Davids, the bustle is done and also order my MOH dress for BFFs wedding in 2 months..eek. I promise Ill be better about updating!
Princess SarahK- Just catching up on your PJ and saw your aisle runner...We are also using real fabric...I'm just curious how you printed it...I'm in the process of doing mine and wondered of there was a way other than hand painting it... Love all your plans BTW...your wedding is going to be gorgeous and classic!![]()
I just found your PJ and read through the whole thing. I love everything that you have planned and can't wait to see how it all turns out.
I am definitely heading to hobby lobby tomorrow to see if I can find myself that carriage. That is awesome!!!!
Hey Nichole, Im a self proclaimed Jellyrolls addict. Ive been talking about that place to all of my friends for a few years now, and Im pretty sure that they know its a non-negotiable of our wedding weekend to visit it and see what all the fuss is about. And drinking around the world is a definite as well! I guess we could also turn it into an informal fireworks viewing. And since they will be optional it will get us off the hook for paying for everything. Thanks for the input!I'm planning some optional events that our guests are invited to, but that I'm not covering the cost of. That sounds like so much fun!!
I keep telling my MOH and Mom that I want a Disney Bachelorette weekend! Drinking around the world, MK, and Jellyrolls! ha. Hopefully they'll come through!
First, I love Cinderella's carriage!
Had you considered doing the Free Camp Fire Sing-A-Long with Chip and Dale at the Walt Disney World Fort Wilderness Campground with your guests? I have seen other DiSBrides that have done this as it is free. If you wanted to spend a couple hundred you could rent a hayride for your guests as well.
It generally begins around 7 p.m. during the fall/winter season and 8 p.m. beginning sometime in April through the summer. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. The program begins with a sing-along led by a Disney cast member - if you've seen "Barney", you know these songs - and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-along lasts about 40 minutes.
After the sing-along , a Disney movie is shown on a large outdoor screen. Seating is available in bleachers or on benches. There is also plenty of room to lay out a blanket or set up your own camp chairs. Disney tries to post all of the resort movie schedules on their website at the beginning of the month. The current movie schedule is posted at all comfort stations. In the event of rain, the sing-along is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.
You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar (roasting sticks - $0.49 each, Marshmallow Bag -$3.99, Hershey's Chocolate Bars - $1.99 each, or a whole s'mores kit is around $8.99; prices accurate as of May 2010). You may also buy pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, juice, popcorn, sodas, coffee, beer and other refreshments at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar. I suggest taking your own smore packets for your guests by getting a sandwich ziploc baggy and sticking grahamcrackers, chocolate and marshmallows in them...then you can purchase a roasting stick for 49 cents when you are there, or hang your ziploc bags on hangers so that you guests can use the hangers to roast their marshmallows. You could even design a cute bag topper that matches your wedding or the event itself.
The campground also has a free petting zoo and pony rides (about $5 each) that close earlier in the afternoon. These are in the "Settlement Trading Post" area - take the Ft. Wilderness internal bus. The Trail's End Restaurant is considered one of WDW's best buffet values. The Trail's End also has a carry-out window called Trails-To-Go 16-inch pizzas and fried chicken meals both individually sized and family sized. If you have a free day (or your arrival day), you can go early and see the petting zoo, have a nice dinner, and then head over to the Sing-Along.
Even if you don't do this, you can include it in your guests "welcome packet" as something free to do or a newsletter if you are planning on sending out another one.
I wouldn't stress too much over having another event for your guests. I'm certain if they are going to Disney for your wedding they are planning on getting tickets and enjoying a few days at the different Disney Parks and they won't feel like they went all that way for just a "ballroom reception" as you called it.
THANKS!We took the aisle runner to a screen printing shop here in town. They do the printing for all of the sports teams and schools around here so we knew they could do pretty much anything. The way they explained it was they were going to dye the fabric with our logo. Thats the best way I know how to explain it! They had a pretty large machine to do it with and the best part was that it only cost us $13!!
HTH
Hey Sarah just read your whole pj and everything looks great! Your runner turned out amazing and I really like your toasting flutes as wellyour wedding is going to be beautiful
