Sanford/Orlando Airport?

We just booked a flight into Sanford/Orlando Airport. Can anyone tell me about this Airport? We got a great deal on airfare flying Southeast Airlines from Allentown, PA to Sanford/Orlando airport. ($140.50 a person)

I flew into Sanford from Allentown last December and it was a breeze, the only thing was the departure flight was delayed because of a snow storm and then we were stuck on the runway for another 1.5 hours due to a water sistem break, so we had no coffee for the flight but other than that there was no problem at all. They do provide soft drinks but no snacks , so you may want to bring your own. Security at both airports was tight , but no problem at all. The rental car counters at Sanford are right by the baggage claim area, or National and Alamo are in the building across right outside of the baggage claim area. The drive to WDW is very easy too and no tolls, I4 all the way.
I would do it again in a heartbeat, except next time we are taking the autotrain because we have not taken the train and my kids are very anxious to take that adventure.

It's not very easy if you hit I-4 during rush hour or following an accident.

Your best route from Sanford is to take SR417. This is the same road (also called Central Florida Greenway) that folks from MCO take. It will cost you around $4 in tolls from Sanford but it's a lot better than sitting in bumper-to-bumper stalled traffic on your first day (or last day) of vacation.

We've flown SE from ABE to Sanford a few times. I actually prefer the 417 route (Greene Way). When we returned to the airport on a Monday in April, we were in the midst of rush hour traffic. The volume was pretty high but traffic was moving. We had been on I4 during rush hour in the past and it's like a stop and go parking lot. I'd rather pay the tolls and keep moving!
