Allegiant flies into Sanford Airport from my home city I see (dumb!). I'm assuming ME only travels to/from Orlando (MCO). Can any of you tell me how you've traveled to WDW from Sanford? I really hate for my granddaughter to miss the experience on ME, but we are saving a ton of money flying Allegiant.

What say you?????? :drive:

Thanks!!

When you book your flights with allegiant they will ask if you want to purchase a shuttle. We always rent a car. It is expensive. I would rent a car.

I've rented cars for the most part. It's a pretty straightforward drive...takes just under an hour. I guess you could always get a cab to MCO and take DME from there but that seems kind of silly.
You can get a car service to WDW but it runs close to $200 r/t.

We went with a car service because it was far cheaper than renting a car for our family. Plus, we drove last year and never used our car so we figured it would be a waste. Just my 2 cents :)

I've checked prices for car services, shuttles....they run at least $50 per person one way  That kind of negates our really cheap airfare....DRAT!

Rental would be the cheapest. Plus you have the convince of going offsite if you need something's

Yep, that's the issue with flying into Sanford!! Like I said, a car service is about $200 r/t, plus tip. You should be able to find a rental car that is cheaper than that though. I would just forgo the ride on DME though...just drive to WDW. You could rent with Alamo/National and then return the car to the Dolphin or Car Care Center. Re-rent when it's time to go back to the airport.

We always rent a car. I check prices on Costco first, and then I see what kind of deal I get when I book from Allegiant. The nice thing about Costco is that you can make a reservation early, but you don't pay until you get there. If the price ever drops, just drop the original reservation and make a new one. We've done the drop-off and pick-up at Dolphin before too, but most of the time, it's about same price to just keep the car all week. Plus, you can drive out to a Walmart or grocery store while you're there.

We flew there last year and rented a car. We got a car for 3 days for about $130. We found this to be the most inexpensive option.
