Sand and Sun ~ Trip Number Ten Was Lots of Fun! Clearwater Beach & YC, August 2013

I might have to make another trip to Pittsburgh and check it out in person!!
It looks so yummy!!

That chocolate sounds great!

It is!! :thumbsup2

Your DS is sweet to give up TL in favor of Legos :)

We always make plans to go to a waterpark bit never seem to get round to it lol

We ate at WPE first the first time last trip and it was awesome. I had the rotisserie chicken but want to try the pizza next time.

Yeah, DS12 is usually very easy going and flexible!

Hopefully we will get to a waterpark next summer, but we'll see...

There's so much to try at WPE and it all looks so good!! :goodvibes

::yes::

So, looking at the closures and rehabs for our January trip it looks like the following will be closed:

Splash Mountain
Liberty Square Riverboat
Casey's Corner
Blizzard Beach

Can anyone guess which of those things made DS14 run through the house yelling -- NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

:laughing::rotfl2:

You are right!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

As soon as I saw it I was like - OH NO!!! :faint:

Is it bad that I'm a little excited that we may actually get to eat somewhere else?? :rotfl:

As soon as I read Casey's Corner I said "Uh oh!"
Because yes I know he loves it, but other than that…

he's FOURTEEN and he's a BOY and that was the ONLY restaurant on the list.

:thumbsup2

:rotfl2:

I knew it was Casey's! Poor guy! I'm glad you get to go somewhere new though. Whatcha got in mind???? I've heard those big pork shanks that look like hog knuckles are really good at Gaston's! :lmao: My DH wanted to try one of those so bad but we were only 20 minutes from eating at BoG so I wouldn't let him get one! He said that looked like 'food fit for a manly man!' :rotfl: I'd like to try something new at MK too though. We always go to CHH on every trip because DH loves it (we all like it actually), but I do like to try new things. I've been to Pinnochio's, Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill's and didn't fall in love with any of those. :confused3 I wouldn't even consider BoG for a while for lunch. We walked by there during lunchtime and the line was out the door and all the way down the bridge! It was crazy!

How to take his mind off it being closed

 Hooters well he is a 14yo Boy :headache:

Hooters!!!!!!

In the Kingdom???!!!???!!

Lawd.

They'd have to change the name to Hooter Kingdom.

Or HooterVille.

Or The City of Hooters.

Or Hooter City.

Or Hootertown.

Daaaaaaaaaang.

Okay wait. This might actually work. You know all those threads where some woman complains "my husband/boyfriend/significant other just doesn't lurve Disney the way I do, how do I get him to go back and be interested?"
Insert Hooters and wham-o. They'd be on the plane before the wife.

Someone call marketing. They have to hear about it. Might be the draw they've been needing. The heck with Fantasyland. Bring on Hooterland!!!!!

:teeth:

I don't know where to go. :confused3 We've done Pecos and Cosmic Rays. I'd like to do BOG for lunch, but like you said - the line is always huge... Maybe if we got there before 11 we could be in the front of the line... I'd like to try CHH too I think, but I need to look over the menu again.

IDK about the pig pork shank hog knuckle things though!!!! :faint: :scared1::rotfl:

After a quick bite to eat at WPE, we headed out to do some shopping. It was still ugly out, and was sprinkling on and off.

I was so happy to find a calendar for 2014. I have gotten one every year since we started going in 2005. But when we were there last December (2012) I couldn't find one for 2013. I looked everywhere and asked several CM's and they all looked at me like I had 3 heads!! :crazy2: It was the strangest thing. None of them knew what I was talking about and said they never had any calendars. :confused3 But anyway, here it was right in the same spot I had always found it in WOD every year (except for last year)!

We shopped some more and we found the shirt that DS12 had looked at on our first night on Epcot. We decided we better get it now. But wouldn't you know it, they didn't have his size! :scared1: Every other size, but his. So I found a CM and she looked it up on the computer and said they did have one in his size “upstairs” and someone would bring it right down...

So we waited. And waited... Pretty soon I told DH to just go ahead and take DS12 over to the Lego Store so he could get a start on his decision making... This always take a good bit of time. :rotfl: So DS14 and I stayed and waited on the shirt. After about 15 minutes it arrived and we made all our purchases and then went over to the Lego Store.

DS12 was still trying to make up his mind on what to get. He didn't take too much longer luckily! He made his purchase and we headed on.

We got to the West Side bus stop at 6:05 and a bus was waiting!!

Up Next: Back to the YC and Epcot!

My DS almost bought that shirt too.
Weird that the CM had no idea about calendars!! UGH! Glad you found one this year.

We waited in line for BOG lunch in July. We only waited 15-20 min. And that was July!!! It was very busy so I would try it in Jan. It can't be any worse.

We got a fastpass reservation for Be Our Guest lunch and by-passed the long stand by line. I don't think January is open for reservations yet. We ate there last week, twice, and the braised pork was really. I had it both times. It is basically a pot roast made with pork instead of beef.

Here is a link to the website where you can make the reservation once it is opened for January:

It is a really cute shirt! :thumbsup2

Good to know about BOG. That's kind of what I was thinking, we would go early and with it being January, maybe it won't be too bad.

Thanks for the link!! I'll have to check it out. :goodvibes

Last December we got an email invitation to do the FP lunch thing, but by the time I saw it (I only check my personal emails every few days on vacation), it was too late. I can't remember if we got the email in August or not.

I never got an email. I just found out about it here on the Dis. I went to the website and made a reservation. Then I heard someone say that you can make another reservation after you've used your first one. So we had lunch on arrival day and on departure day. I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for this forum.

I just tried it and it says it is only open to preselected guests at this time. :confused3

We had a fast pass for lunch at BOG in September. There was quite a line, but we went to the kiosk & was ushered right in. I had preordered our food so we just picked a table & our food was brought to us.

We didn't get any email, I saw the info here on the Dis. It took awhile before I could get the FP, but it let me make the ressie when it got closer to our trip.
