Did everyone hear they are taking the FP machines out of AK and opening up the FP+ to everyone?? Curious to see how that goes...

I heard that last week. When I told DH, he was like what?? What if you just want to ride rides all day?? You need to schedule every single ride now?? It's not even a theme park anymore. I agree w him. I'm not sure I like all of this. Even when we'll be able to use FP+
I'm not sure we'll even go to MK next week now. I might go just to see how those kiosks work/not work. I just can't imagine there'll be anything left to choose.
Oh well it is what it is. All I care about is the Osborne lights, the candlelight processional, all the Christmas decorations and of course most important.... Warm weather!!!! So excited to wear shorts

Well I think that is why they are doing the tiers/categories for those that can do the FP+ ahead of time. That way all the good stuff isn't all taken up. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out...

I'm so jealous you get to wear shorts next week!!!!

Friday, August 23:



We had decided the night before to not let our free ticket go to waste! Since it was good for either waterpark or Disney Quest, and we were done with being wet on this trip, who can guess where we were headed?!!

Yes, Disney Quest! I wasn't overly thrilled about this, but it sure sounded a whole lot better than walking around wet all day at this point.

So we slept in a little and got up around 8:00 and headed out to the bus stop around 9:00. I really had no idea what time DQ opened, but I assumed it was 9 or 10. Well, I guess I should have checked on that...

We got to DTD around 9:30. The shops were all open, but our bus driver told us that the bus was only stopping at the Marketplace, and not the West Side because nothing on the West Side opens until 11:00. Now I was worried that DQ might not open until 11:00...

We took a pic of this squirrel because this is exactly how our dog lays when he is eating a bone!!

So we went to Guest Services and asked. And they said that DQ didn't open until 11:30.

So now we had nearly 2 hours to kill, and we had just been a DTD the night before. We thought about just skipping it and going back to the YC, but in the end we decided to stick it out. One of the kids said that they had noticed the night before at WPE that they had a really good breakfast menu, so we thought that sounded like a good way to kill some time!

The CM at the register wasn't very friendly this morning. I asked if there was a choice of toppings for the waffles and she said – It comes with fruit. Very matter of factly and kind of rude even. So I didn't bother to ask what kind of fruit and just hoped for the best. So, I ordered the Belgian Waffles, and so did DH. The kids both got some frosted mini wheats and they got one order of the Corn Flake French Toast to share. Luckily the fruit that came on the waffles, as well as the french toast, was fresh strawberries and bananas.

DS sporting his new MB accessory that he had found at the bus stop that morning!!

Everything was very good. Not Kona good, but still very good!

The AC was cranked up pretty high in there. As DH and I finished up, the kids went outside to get warmed up. It was almost 10:30 now, so we still had an hour to kill.

We walked down by the water and messed around a bit. DS12 wanted some pics of him in his pug shirt for my cousin. She has a pug and DS just loves that weird looking little dog!!

Then we just walked around a bit.

DS12 so kindly offered to kill some time in the Lego Store!

Then just some more looking around.

And then we made our way towards Disney Quest.

I'm so glad that I am reading your post about Disney Quest not opening until 11:30 a.m. I had planned some time at DTD which includes at least one trip to DQ. Sounds like you got Miss Grumpy Pants for a castmember at WPE. Somebody musta put something in her cornflakes. At least the food was good. Now that I think about it, maybe I do need to plan a morning at DTD so we can eat a breakfast there.

We made the same mistake the one and only time we went to DisneyQuest. We had booked a package that had free vouchers for DisneyQuest so we decided to try it on our check out day. We had to kill time before our flight out, anyway. We got over to DTD at least an hour too early and it was a ghost town.

By the way, the kids liked DG but I hated it.

11:30 is a very weird time to open!

Your breakfast looks good, shame about the snotty CM though.

Gotta love that Lego store for killing time! My DS could literally spend all day racing the lego cars down the ramps outside, me not so much lol

My kids liked DQ, DH & I thought it was okay. Glad we went, but it definitely isn't a must-do!

Ya know.... If you get so lucky as to not only work at Disney World but also have the distinct pleasure of actually living IN Florida, the least you could do is be pleasant since you have at least two things in your life working greatly in your favor. Sheesh. People are so irritating sometimes. She must've needed some hormones.

That's totally a dumb time to open DQ too. I mean, 10, yes. 11, yes. 11:30? DUMB. They should put grumpy girl over there to hand out bananas to people and entertain the masses. That would be fun.

I read that this morning. Starts right before we get there. Seems kind of crazy, 11:30-7 everyday.

I'm not sure it will impact our trip too much, but still!! We will just have to think out our transportation before just taking off expecting that everything will be running. We have a late morning Kona breakfast. I guess we will just have to make sure to be out of there before 11:30 if we want to take the monorail to the CR, to take the boat to the WL.

So much for an afternoon deluxe resort monorail tour!

So glad you are enjoying the TR. It was our first time at the YC and we really enjoyed it.

So, how about this lovely weather we've been having?? With this much snow in what is still technically fall, I shutter to think about what the winter has in store for us.
