Samsung Galaxy S3

DD had a Samsung Galaxy (older version). Started out great, but soon crapped out on her....things just weren't working right, missed called, missed texts, all photos were deleted. Brought it into the store and they couldn't do anything about it. She's patiently waiting for an her upgrade and will be getting the iPhone.

You could be us !! I read this and had to see if I wrote it!:rotfl2: We are in the exact same situation and neither me nor my DH would get a Samsung phone again. I can't tell you how many times my phone locks up, shuts down...I have to take the battery out of it at least twice a day just to unlock what's locked. There's not a day that goes by that I don't want to throw it off a bridge.

We're also patiently waiting to upgrade to iPhone5 in January... it'll be a GOOD day!!! :thumbsup2

it's huge, but not in an awesome way. i find it awkward to talk on and if my ear isn't just right on the phone i can't hear the other person. it feels like i'm holding a book to my head. it doesn't fit in a pocket either. it's fast tho and the wifi calling a nice feature. i like the selection of "relaxing" ringtones it comes with. i don't like that i can't remove some of the pre installed apps that are subscription required for them to work and cost money or take up space an clutter my screens. upside, it's a popular phone so finding cases and extras has not been hard. never had a dropped call or anything but i REALLY miss my flip out keyboard. swipe is stupid and i cannot begin to express how much i hate it and how it garbles 90% of my texts. i spend more time "fixing" things i've typed/swiped than i do actually reading text responses or web pages. i also had to upgrade my sim card to use this new phone so now my sim card(t mobile) doesn't work in my other old phones, forcing me to use this one and only phone. i used to swap my card out into cheaper, older phones that i didn't care about for trips to theme parks or concerts so if i lost or broke it, no big deal.

Just read this post and I have concerns: I am planning on purchasing this phone for my DD14 as an upgrade, but purchasing it outright rather than extending our TMobile contact just to get it at a subsidized price and then have to pay a $18 upgrade fee on top of it. I found it online, unlocked, and TMobile ready - however from what you are saying, I may not be able to remove DD's simcard from her Samsung Gravity T and just swap it into this Gravity S3. That was my plan - that and having her swap the card back into her old phone when she is going to school or to sports in case an accident were to happen. Why did you need a new sim for the Gravity S3?

We are an iphone family, but my DS 16 has asked for the Galaxy S3 for his birthday. It's on the way, but now I am worried that we made a bad choice. We have Verizon, and never have any trouble with our iPhones.

I was wondering how you buy apps for the Galaxy S3? If he was getting an iphone, he'd be getting an itunes card.

Google play cards. I buy my dds at target.

I don't have a Galaxy SIII, but I did have a Galaxy SI when they first came out a few years ago. I really liked that phone, but had a little accident with it in which the screen completely shattered and the internal parts of the phone were basically shot.

I love my iPhone 4S. I'm going to upgrade to the 5 (or the 5S or 6 or whatever is released next) when I'm eligible for an upgrade next August. I honestly couldn't imagine going back to an Android now that I've had an iPhone. Everything works so much more seamlessly on iOS, and I love that my contacts, iMessages, pictures, calendars, notes, etc. are automatically sent to my other Apple devices, so I don't have to constantly check my phone. It's all about convenience for me. :)

Wow! I am surprised to hear the negative reviews from users going from and iphone to the Galaxy Siii. I've read a gazillion reviews online but I knew you guys would be helpful on here!

Thanks all!

We are waiting for my son's replacement SIII. Tuesday night, it just stopped working. It went dark, no lights, nothing would work. We bought it late July. Went through lots of online suggestions then called customer service. They put him through a couple diagnostic tests and said they were sending him a new one-no charge.
The man said it happens somewhat frequently. Otherwise-he loves it! I have an Iphone 4S and I like it really well. My husband just got a 4 and he likes that too. I had an original Droid when I upgraded to my S4. It was really unreliable and I was so happy to get another phone.

In case you didn't see it, Sam's Club has it for 96 cents. It is the SIII not the 2. Well worth it considering the cheapest I've seen for Black Friday is $49.00.

Went from an EVO to it, returned it within 3 days and went with the one x. I couldn't get used to the actual home button, and screen issues. The colors look like the bleed.

It's not my phone, it's DD's, this all from her... She's happy with it, but it does take her longer to do some things than it did on her iPhone. All I'm saying is she switched from iPhone 4 to this one and she does notice that there is definitely a bigger learning curve to learning the Galaxy vs iPhone.... She has the time to "figure" it out, whereas if it was my phone, I would have already returned it.......

I went from an iphone to a Samsung galaxy s2 and i found it extremely easy to use and find my way around. I love my phone. its much easier to use than iphone imho. I love that the majority of apps are free on android Google. I also love how i can customize my phone to the way i want. I can put the calendar icon on my home screen and pretty much anything else i find important. to each their own i guess.

Im just counting down the days to when i can upgrade to the S3!!!!!

Sent from my Galaxy SII

I noticed my signal strength dropped a bar or two when I webt to the iphone over my old smart phone, but i havent had any issues with it being slow. I just started a new contract and got 2 new galaxy s3. Its a really nice phone and my boyfriend loves it because he has big hands and now he can type better.

There's a few things I like more, like the keyboard and spellcheck, the mail app that pulls mail from all of them, and it was fairly easy to set up. We also have a galaxy tab 2 and I love it. For now, I'm going to keep using the iphone since its less than 6 months old to me. But I do like it and web browsing is amazing on it.

We were able to get both phones for a $100 each and free activation with AT&T store. There's a few BF deals for it if you're up to it.
