Recap of Rehearsal and Dinner at 'Ohana
I had to get up at the crack of dawn so that I could have some breakkie in the Concierge Lounge and then get my butt off to the Grand Floridian Spa. I wanted to get there early so that I could enjoy the sauna, steam room and spa before my treatments. It was just after 7 but I wasnt that hungry so I just grabbed some juice and got in the car, of course I was silly and completely forgot that I should have parked at the Wedding Pavilion instead I went and valetd at the GF and then had to walk to the Spa. I had never been to the GF Spa before but have been to many other Spas in the US and in Europe and I was sadly a little disappointed to be honest I was expecting something more spacious. I was booked in for massage, manicure and pedicure. I asked at the desk if along with my manicure they could do a repair on one of my acrylics, at my nail place this takes all of an extra 2 minutes but I was really made to feel if I had just asked for the world to be honest this was starting to make me feel really rubbish but I decided to take a deep breath and suck it up. Once undressed I had a little soak in the spa and then I rested in the lounge and feasted on a banana and water. Then it was time for my massage I had booked in for a full body 50 min. massage and my therapist, Bonnie, was really good I explained to her that I was getting married tomorrow so I was pretty sure shed find a load of knots I also wanted a massage that would make me relax as you can imagine my mind was in another place with 24 hours to go. Anyway Bonnie did find a lot of tension in my neck, back and shoulders and actually suggested that I needed to get some deep tissue work done after the wedding. The rest of the massage was so good and relaxing that I wasnt even thinking of the wedding and nodded off a couple of times heaven.
When I got out of my massage Carol had arrived, she had stayed on at PI a little later than myself so was a little jaded. We were having treatments at different times so we chatted until we were both called. I went into a room that had 3 or 4 pedicure chairs in and then sat back. I had Katherine who was very nice to me but not very chatty and a little sulky at times to her colleagues but she did a great job especially on my repair and even found another nail that she thought needed a little infill so I was pleased with that. I had decided to just go with a pale natural pink for my manicure but I went for a lighter pink shimmer for my pedicure in hindsight I wish I had gone for a more bolder pink for my toes just because they would have looked better once on the cruise I just wasnt really thinking ahead. I went and sat in the lounge for about 30 minutes after my nails were done as I always get paranoid that Ill smudge the polish so I wait until I know they are very dry before I do anything.
It was funny originally I was planning on having all the girls there for my Spa morning but this just never worked out because of everyones schedules. In hindsight I was glad for having this time on my own just to relax not to have to talk to anyone about the wedding it was great to have "me-time" and definitely the best thing for me.
After the Spa I decided to return the car to Alamo at the Dolphin it wasnt like I needed it for the next couple of days so it made sense to me that this day was the best day to take it back and as it was on my way back a convenient time too. I then walked along the path from the Dolphin back to the Yacht Club.
Now whilst I was at the Spa Paul took his brother and kids to the Cape May Café for breakfast and then they went and played mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens. My family were due to meet with Paul in the lobby at noon for tux-fitting. It was about this time when I walked into the lobby of the YC and I noticed a woman with a coat rail and what looked like tuxes hanging from it walking towards the lifts. I went up to her and asked her if she was Carolyn Allen she was indeed I introduced myself to her and took up to the room we chatted along the way and I commented to her about how good I had found Candice and wanted her to know that I had been very happy with the service that I had received so far. We walked into the room and both sets of families were in there so I took Liane and Ariane to the Concierge Lounge and as we left we wished Carolyn the best of luck !!
About 30 minutes later whilst we were hanging out in the lounge we saw Carolyn leave and so we headed back to the room my family were already togged up in their tropical gear as they were gonna hang for a bit until the rehearsal. Pauls brother and kids had completely forgotten about the tropical attire for the night and so were gonna go shopping. So off they went, then I realized that Paul hadnt got anything to wear for Ohana either I was really annoyed at him but I just let him know that I was disappointed but he then felt bad so he went off to the shop in the lobby to see if they had anything he then called me from the Beach Club shop, he had gone to see their selection, to give me the low down on the choices apparently the ones in the YC were less loud than the ones in the BC and which did I think he should go for I said tame tropical was fine LOL I could almost hear the relief in his voice. No sooner had I put the phone down when there was a knock at the door, it was our EM he was just coming to pick up stuff and also to drop off some boxes from Minda, which she had shipped, they had all the favours in for that night and for the next day so Tracy wanted me to check them over everything was of course perfect. He loved the fact that we were staying at the YC as he works at the Y&B Convention Center so it was easy for him to just pop and see us, bless him. I told him that Paul was out getting a tropical shirt for later to appease me and he offered to lend him one, which was lovely of him but I explained to him that Paul needed on for the cruise anyway for their Tropical night so this was a way of killing two birds. We chatted a little while longer and then he left.
Paul returned shirt in hand and so I was a happy bunny but I was still pretty wired and Paul was also worried that I hadnt really eaten and was gonna make myself ill if I didnt. So he ordered some room service, now heres a man who knows the way to win me over, give me food LOL. Because we had so many boxes of wedding stuff all over the place there wasnt anywhere for the server to put the food down so we told her to just place the tray on the bed. Then Paul laid out the table cloth that came with the tray on the bed and then we sat on the bed and it was like we were having a picnic of chicken fingers (there were loads of them) fries, ceasar salad and coke LOL it felt wonderfully romantic the chicken fingers were great and there were so many of them I was pleased that Paul had ordered this. Then I went and had a little soak in the tub and got ready for the events ahead.
Just before 3.00 we went down to the lobby in our tropical outfits, bride and groom ears and pins. This was to be the only day I would get Paul to wear the Grooms hat and I was happy just for that. As we came out of the lobby and down towards the pier we saw Mandy (my MoH) and her partner Vicky I was soooo happy to see them. Mandy had called me earlier that day to try and wind me up by saying that they had missed their flight and wouldnt be there (she thinks shes so funny) but I didnt buy it!! Anyway here they were and it was great to see them finally. We walked over to the bench at the bottom of the pathway that leads to the Gazebo we had both sets of families, Carol (reading) and Sandra (singing) as well as Dayna and Pinky for support. Then I saw Stan from STVS, I had booked him just a few weeks before to cover the rehearsal dinner. We introduced ourselves to him and was pleased to see him in his Goofy Tropical shirt I asked him again if he would join us for dinner at Ohanas but sadly he said he couldnt but would come and film some of it before leaving. He then told me that Randy had been trying and trying to call me this I found funny as from what Id heard it was normally the brides that tried to get into contact with Randy. I cant even remember what he wanted or what he hadnt still discussed but Stan then called him on his cell for me to talk to LOL. Then I remembered that my cell-phone was switched off so I turned it on and had loads of messages I sooooo was on tenterhooks as to what the messages were gonna be about so Dayna stepped in and took charge. She listened to all my phone messages asked me appropriate questions and then just called everyone back for me namely my florist which was a great help.
Then the main man showed up !! Paul and I had not met Rev Jack Day and so our EM and Stan took us over to him to make introductions ..what a sweetie we found him to be with a wicked sense of humour. He was quick to pick up on our jokey behaviour and we had an absolute ball. Hes very playful and I loved that we were all having fun in a moment that could have been full of nerves. Then we rehearsed Rev Jack and our EM just took total control of us all and it went well. We had discussions about the Unity Candle and because it was windy and the fact that I didnt have a Hurricane Lamp, we went back and forth on whether or not we should hold the Unity Ceremony in Ariels or at the Gazebo but then Stan stepped in and said hed just edit the flames in if we need be. We seemed to be pretty sorted on what we were all doing and Rev Jack assured us that he would be there to prompt us the next morning so we didnt have to worry about remembering anything thankfully !!!!!
Rehearsal over it was time to get the boxes of leis and favours from the room and get in cars and head over to the Poly. It was like a little convoy we went with Mandy and Vicky so that we could chat with them some more. Once at Ohana we went to the bar and Paul got drinks for everyone we were early. Paul and I went to see one of the hosts who took us into the restaurant where we showed him how we wanted the favours laid out. Oh I guess you want to see them, let me tell you Minda did a fabulous job .. again our Rehearsal Dinner was a Lilo and Stitch theme !!

She had also included balloons and palm tree swizzle sticks and tropical shiny confetti to go on the tables.
Anyway we had put Ariane on lei duty to make sure that everyone was leid up. Originally Paul and I were gonna wear fresh leis but I just ran out of time to organize after the first company turned me down because my event was on the Wednesday and they delivered to FL Thursday to Sunday and they werent sure that the leis would keep. However this worked out great as Mandy and Vicky had bought us blue for boys and pink for girls leis each so it all worked out.

OK another tip from Sam write a list of names that are coming to each event so that you know that everyone is there !! After a while of trying to count
we eventually got everyone to get in a line so I could count properly we were 2 short but we couldnt really wait any longer so we went in to eat.
We were then taken to 2 tables roman style there were 43 of us (in the end) wed all sat down Paul and I headed up one table and then left everyone to just sit where they wanted. Everyone loved the favours but the soaps smelt soooooooo good, pineapple, that everyone kept asking us if it was soap or candy LOL it was tempting to tell them candy
We told everyone that everything was on us but if they wanted alcohol that they had to pay for that themselves. By the end of the meal only two people had ordered off the drinks menu so we just paid the full bill. I guess everyone was happy with the free sodas and water. I had to go around the table and get everyone to put the palm tree swizzle sticks in their drinks to get them in the tropical spirit
Paul was on top form and was still wearing his Grooms hat which I was surprised about but very pleased. The meal was soooo good, one of the best Id had there, the steak was perfectly cooked the shrimp wasnt too spicy and the service was wonderful. They just kept bringing out more and more food but I have to say I think I was overly excited and found it difficult to eat I was grateful then that Paul had got me to eat earlier as I am really really cranky when Im hungry.
At the end of the meal I had already agreed with the Restaurant Manager to serve the towels and pineapple with our surprise, which came next I had asked for a cake to be made but had no idea how it would look or anything I left it entirely to my EMs discretion and he organised an awesome job:
