Sadness and Grief... :(

I just read on many websites (www.wdwig.com) and others that the Great Movie Ride will now be closed until June 29th! This was always one of my favorites and I'll really miss it on my June trip (6/14-6/21). How depressing!

I know! Very Sad. MGM was never my favorite park but I enjoyed TGMR. My MIL is joining us for our trip in a few weeks and she was SO looking forward to this ride. She's never been to WDW and is a HUGE movie fan. Bummer!

Sorry to hear of that bummer for you! I know just the feeling you have. The first time we took our oldest dd (age 3 at the time), Small World was closed. If there was anything I'd wanted to see her reaction to it was that! I just had a knot in my stomach each time we walked passed it.

LOL I feel for you - another disappointed couple here it's our MGM favourite ride, but we get to go back in December and ride it then so we've just managed to get over it

Just so long as it's open when we go in November!! Otherwise, DW will be very upset. It's her favorite.

I'm still sad that the Hunchback was closed.

This is one of my favorites and I'm really sad that it will be closed during my trip

So, I'll just have to put in double time on my other favorites this May. Lucky for me I have so many "favorites"

It's one of my wife's favorite rides in all of WDW, so she's not too happy. Add to that it was also closed last May for the entire time we were there, so she missed out on it. DD (age 6) was looking forward to it since she recently portrayed a munchkin in a High School production of Wizard of Oz and really wanted to see that part of it again.

Guess that means more times on Star Tours! <-- This is a running joke in my family as my wife hates this ride (makes her ill) and my DD and I ride it minimum of 5-7 times each trip.

But seriously, I too am disappointed it's closed again.

Will they just be doing maintenance on it or are they closing it down for other reasons?

To me that GMR was no big deal so I won't miss it. Now I will miss the Pooh ride since I heard it is being shut down Qpril 24th through the entire month of May!! We love that ride and will really miss that one!

Good news for GMR fans. I have a neighbor who is a CM and told me it should be open June 7, maybe even as early as Memorial Day weekend. I can hardly wait, it is one of my favorites.
