So I am back and recovered (somewhat) from Marathon Weekend and a week long cruise. New goals ahead, but will keep journaling here, mostly because I am lazy and don't want to start a new thread.
My half marathon experience:
Well it was cold, and wet, and slow. But it was awesome all the same. Seeing all the people out cheering for us, seeing other WISHers along the way, WOW. FIL and I ran together for the first 9 miles, then I got some serious cramping in my right foot, which continued up my leg to my hip, slowing me down some. I finished far slower than I had hoped (2:59:01) but I didn't care. I FINISHED!! I cried a bit when the volunteer put the medal around my neck. It took a few minutes to find FIL, but we made our way to the best money I ever spent-The Race Retreat. THE BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT, EVER, EVER. What an awesome thing on such a miserable day.
My friends from California have talked me into going to DL for the half and getting me a cool Coast to Coast medal.

DH is onboard, as I will be going by myself (can't afford for all three of us to go). So I now have something else to train for.
Plus, as previously mentioned, I am going to run the full at Disney. Now it has been bumped up to 2013, since that is the 20th anniversary. DH is onboard with this too. (Isn't he great?

)
Unfortunately, before I can start training for another half, I seriously need to drop some weight. I was down to 164 in Dec of 2007, as of yesterday (yes the day after I returned from a 10 day vacation) I was 182. I really would like to be in the 150's before I start training again. Ultimately I would like to be in the 130's by the time I left for Anaheim.
My strategy for this weight loss is:
Back on WW, once I have gone to the grocery store and procured the items I need to succeed.
Changing up my exercise-weights 2-3 x per week, couple of classes at the Y. Running occasionally, incline walking.
I have done it before, losing 50 lbs, so I know I can do it again.
