Rumors that Disney is in negotiations to sell Star Wars back to George Lucas!

It was just a terribly written character, not her fault at all. They took a good actress who happened to be beautiful and put her in a potato sack of a costume and gave her some of the most cringy lines in the movie. The studio did her absolutely no favors in the movies. She didn't receive any more hate than Jake Loyd did, and he was just a kid.
Okay I'm just going to be brutally honest - I 100% don't care how bad her character was. The harassment (especially the sexism and racism) that she received from Star Wars fans was disgusting and uncalled for. So many of those people justified it because the character was "bad" and that is wrong.

And before you bring out more whataboutism, it was wrong with Jake Loyd and with any actor in the prequels.

You should follow it up with Terminator 2 for Sarah Connor’s internal monologue about how the only man who was ever good enough to care for her child is actually a robot.

Or where she berates a man for his lack of understanding of creating life and that all men know is how to destroy everything.
Or how Vazquez is stronger than a lot of the other men in the squad and insults the manhood of Hudson...in a movie with absolutely no feminist overtones..at all.

Labels Designed to Hurt

Name-calling is one of the most common tactics people use to hurt others or disparage them. It often occurs when someone has an emotional argument to make with little or no supporting logical argument.

The emotional mind can often have a “mind of its own” or “emotional intelligence” which operates independently of the logical mind, and name-calling is a product of this emotional mind, an explosion of feeling in the form of barbed words.

Most people who indulge in name-calling know that the label or name they choose to describe another individual is not factually accurate. The label is often regarded as hyperbole or as a metaphor. Something which more accurately describes how the speaker feels about the other person than what the speaker actually thinks about the other person.

Fair, I find that they work better as individual movies and not an avengers style universe.
Joker was really good, and the First WW was really good. The rest they have really struggled with. I did think the last Batman was a step in the right direction with the realism and taking Batman back to a detective style genre.

Tons of your friends still don't make a comic popular. It requires actual sales, to the industry as a whole. It has been cancelled and then restarted more than just about any other current comic character being depicted in the MCU.

Manga outsells CM comics like 100 to 1.
Manga has outsold Comics for years and it is normally not even close. Most comic books now only sale between 30K to 70K copies per month. Yes, there are some titles that will sell more, but for most titles, they will fall in the 30K to 70K range. You would have to go back to the early 90's and the days when Image Comics first started and the release of the new X-Men title in 1991 to see a title selling more than a million copies a month. In the mid to late 70's and most of the 80's the big Marvel titles (ASM, X-Men and Wolverine) would sell between 200K and 500K copies a month with most Marvel titles sales numbers dropping throughout the 80's. Most titles out now, with their current print runs, would have been cancelled in the 70's through mid 90's for not being successful.

I haven't bought a new issue comic book since 2002 and still have over 7,000 comic books at home. I still buy back issues that I'm missing to fill holes and finish runs of the titles that I do/have collected.

Or Ahmad Best and Hayden Christensen. Star Wars fans have a pattern of being completely awful to people they don't like.

So I posit this, just make content the creators want to make and stop worrying about what the fans think or want. Fans are supposed to watch the content or not. They don't get to have input. Thank god, for that. When they get input, we get crap like Rise of Skywalker.

You do realize that any actor in most major movies get massive amounts of hate mail and backlash right? It's very common in the industry.

The fact that you like Brie Larson and CM does not change the fact that the character is hated by a significant portion of Marvel fans. Why do all your talking points result in calling people names?
Also, when in this thread did I call anyone names? Never.

Okay and? It's still wrong.
Completely agree in KMTs case. In the case of Queen Brie she, she deserves everything she gets. If you are going to openly be an outspoken feminist who constantly calls out one race and gender as being bad, why is she shocked when that demographic doesn't like her? Her movie sucked and she knew it, so her defense was just like people on her to talk down to those that didn't like it. She told us she didn't care about us as a fan or even what we thought, and we simply gave her what she wanted. Don't purposely make yourself a sociopolitical lightning rod, and then complain when some lightning comes your way.

Captain Marvel made a ton of money, I will give you that. You always have that as a win for Queen Brie.

All of this reminds me of the Ghostbusters 2016 movie and how those 4 actresses were harassed by upset nerds that could've just....not watched the movie? I didn't watch that because it looked cringe-y. It's not hard.

So sensitive. You've completely warped and misconstrued what Brie said just to fuel your own hate of an unapologetic feminist.

Well that, and the Oscar she has. Pretty good little win for Queen Brie.
They gave Will Smith one of those right after he went on stage and physically assaulted another man. Not sure I put much stock anymore into who they give those little trophies too.

Seriously. The Fast and the Furious movies make me want to roll my eyes out of my head. But I don’t go making videos about them on YouTube and trying to convince everyone who likes them that they’re wrong.
