Tons of your friends still don't make a comic popular. It requires actual sales, to the industry as a whole. It has been cancelled and then restarted more than just about any other current comic character being depicted in the MCU.

That's mainly because with manga, you can just start at volume 1 and then read a continuous story where you understand what's going on. Whereas a comic has so many different iterations and timelines that it gets overwhelming to figure out where to start.

I hope a reboot of Superman can work down the road. Superman has the same issues as Captain Marvel has on screen though. Hard to root for a character that is so overpowered and has very few weaknesses.I love Henry Cavill
It was picking up tho! (Justice League movie not included) Besides Wonder Woman 1 I really enjoyed Aquaman, Birds of Prey and Shazam. Even the less cringy parts of Suicide Squad 1 were fun. And then WW1984 came out and all the momentum was lost. RIP Henry Cavill's Superman.

But I was pointing out the falsehood that Captain Marvel isn’t a well-liked character. They probably would never made a solo movie if not because of the popularity of Kelly Sue DeConnick’s comics run. And most fans I know of comics Carol loved the movie, too.
