Rumors that Disney is in negotiations to sell Star Wars back to George Lucas!

JJ made him look that way IMO. He took Luke Skywalker, the individual who abandoned training to risk his life against one of the most evil people in the Galaxy to save his friends, and made him into someone who just disappears from the galaxy and chooses to not show up at a time when one of his best friends is about to be killed by his own son.

He can confidently confront Vader and the Emperor, but some new evil leader and his Nephew are so much for him that he must go away into hiding and abandon everything he once fought for?

Keep in mind, he wasn't afraid ot them (Snoke and Kylo Ren), he was afraid of himself. That's why he extricated himself from the equation. It's what good Jedi do.

You really need to give that "Red X" thing a break. I had never heard of it and looked it up, and all it is is that some employee decorates his cubicle with "pro-Empire" stuff. That poster has a big picture of Vader, and he X'd out Luke. This is a male employee too. Consider that nonesnes debunked.

It's also not some great female conspiracy. Granted they probably wanted to push some females to the forefront becuase they hadn't dont that before. That does not mean tearkign down the males, etc. Your issues are specificall with Luke and Rey - that's understandable. But suppose Rey were a male? Would you still think there is a concerted effort? They just want to push the new characters, and many happen to be female becuase they wanted to change it up. But sure, KK and all the people who work for hate men - even the men!
If Rey were a male, I would still think he was an incredibly poorly written character that I could not relate to. Too much plot armor, too good at everything he did, no training required, like playing a game with all the cheat codes turned on, and a terribly written character arc.

Right. The people wearing them are women. It doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean males can't be the Force too.

Nike was in on the grand male hating conspiracy.

I'm open to ideas. My best friend was not a fan of the Last Jedi and we talked extensively about it. I completely understand where he's coming from because he's not echoing alt-right, incel based talking points and grievance politics over a changing world.
Yeah. I don't like TLJ for many reasons, but I can't stand that YouTuber outrage crowd.

If that's the case, then don't harp on that aspect. You're so worried that Phoebe Waller-Bridge will show-up Harrison Ford in the new Indy. Were you worried that Shia LeBeouf would do the same? You say you don't have an anti-female bias, and yet you argue with the same misogynistic talking points parrotted all over the Internet.

LMAO, okay, I have got to comment on this. I know the guy with the Red X over Luke's face. He was active in fandom on Twitter and was on some podcasts, and later got a job at Lucasfilm. He is a VERY nice guy, and known for being an Empire lover. That's his thing. He loves the Empire, he loves Palpatine, he'll get into big "debates" with people about it. Him putting a Red X over Luke Skywalker's face is an extension of his "loving the Empire" shtick. He would rag on me ALL the time because of how much I love Luke. And I would throw it back on him about Luke helping kill Palpatine. It was all in good fun.

(When the guy ran the Star Wars twitter account, he helped me find the gif of Luke smacking Rey's hand with a reed. Then I said thanks and asked if he'd tell Mark Hamill I loved him. He TAGGED MARK HAMILL in the tweet and Mark RESPONDED "love you back." It was one of the best days of my life, LOL.)

Nice. I had never heard of that whole thing until it was mentioned here - I looked it up and found exactly what you said. It's a whole lot of nothing, but the snowflakes are so fragile that anything like that becomes some huge thing.

That's cool about Mark Hamill!

That's an old movie that no-one is talking about.

I will stop "parrotting' wdwpro as soon as you stop "parroting" leiaorgana.......deal?

You can't handle that I hate Rian Johnson's steaming pile of poo (TLJ), but I am a snowflake?

Indeed. What's with some people's "they win, I lose" attitude? It sure looked to me like there was a strong male character with Force ability in the newer movies. What was he, chopped liver?
If George had been able to get his sequel trilogy going, there would've been 3 female force user leads: Leia, her apprentice who has to go find hermit Luke, and a female Sith villain.

Here’s my controversial take.

You know what, I had to wait 25 years (birth to Force Awakens) to see a major female character hold a lightsaber. Y’all can live with Force-using men taking a backseat for a while.

(Do not come at me with animated characters or book characters or non-speaking roles that required you to watch the credits to get names in the prequels. There is absolutely a difference, and you know it.)

This is why I laugh when people say they want George Lucas back at the helm. George, the guy who named Nute Gunray after Newt Gingrich?

Seriously, go read the story about the first draft he wrote for Indy 4. It was so bad that both Spielberg and Ford told him no way. Both Force Awakens and Last Jedi borrowed heavily from what Lucas wanted to do with his treatment of the ST.

And your feelings are exactly how many feel on here as well, they are just not bold enough to say it. You are exactly the target demographic KK set out to bring into the fandom with her plans. I just personally wish they didn't see the need to destroy the character I loved and identified with to, give you the one you love. I personally think their was room enough for all in the galaxy. All those that are flocking to like your post as we speak, think very similarly to you btw.

Wow, the misogyny is strong with this one.

On other Star Wars news, can't wait for Ashoka. She is my fave <3 Hope her show is great.... oh who am I kidding, I will probably love it even if it's terrible.

Ashoka is a great character, I look forward to seeing her story unfold. Oh the misogyny!

Same thing always on here, when you disagree with me it is only a matter of time before someone starts the name calling. So tolerant and accepting of others opinions!

BrianL disagreed with you about TLJ. He did not attribute any worldviews to its creators.

You said, "When I see pics of Lucasfilm creatives office and there is clearly a picture of Luke with a red X drawn over his face, am I to believe the studio loves and adores this legacy character like I do?" It turned out to be a poster in the cube of one Lucasfilm employee who has fun playing devil's advocate about the Empire, not a grand scheme by Lucasfilm to destroy Luke's legacy. So yeah, snowflake.
