Hello,
I was able to go to Disneyland last December, and saw the new snow effect on Sleeping Beauty's Castle:

I know that there was a lot of people who didn't love the snow effect last year (the lights that were visable during the day weren't great!) but I'll bet they do a better job this year.

I also heard a rumor that that the snow effect may extend to mainstreet. Anyone else heard this?

Ooooooo.....I have not heard about this. But now I am curious too....

I LOVED the snow effect on the castle. The short lighting ceremony(seperate from the fireworks) they did a few times each night was wonderful. The song was beautiful, and the lights were so pretty. I can't wait for Christmas!

Seems like I vaguely remember hearing about them adding more than last year. I didn't get to see it last year but will be there to see this year so I will be glad to see it either way. We extended our trip to get to stay for the holiday kick off on the 21st. I thought that was a good reason to add a few days...:rolleyes1

When I was there last year there was snow falling from the roof tops of Main Street. Over by IASW too..

no, I don't really mean that--you know how they did the twinkle effect to the castle and made it all light up a few times a night (like in the video I posted)? I hear they may extend that effect to mainstreet--so that the entire street lights up as well as the castle.

We shall see, right?:santa:

LisainCA...thank you for the youtube link...WOW! the castle is beautiful...I can't wait to see it, the last time we were at DL for Christmas was in 2005... the 50th celebration and the decorations were golden...this is going to be so cool...hoping the mainstreet rumor comes true...JC :santa:

LisainCalifornia......Yippee!!! Its such a great time to go. I saw your ticker in the first post in this thread and decided to make one. Its very cute. I have been meaning to do one for so long.

I think the time we picked is perfect! We went the same week last year, and it was the best trip we have ever had. The weather was cool (a little sprinkles at times) and it was fun to bundle up and watch the fireworks and parades. The parks were perfect at that time--not crowded at all.

My girls got to spend a long time with Santa at Reindeer Roundup because it was so NOT crowded. They played a game with him and had so much fun!

Have you ever taken the Holiday Tour? We did last year and it was our best experience ever at the park! I recommend that highly and almost wish we could do it again. We may pick another tour, but that one is perfect for Xmas.

Hugs,
Lisa

We have gone the week after Thanksgiving for the past 3 years. This is the first year our trip will fall in December, but I'm glad to hear that the park shouldn't be more crowded than November. And we loved the short Santa line too!!! Plus Santa is much more handsome and jolly at DL than when he is at the mall :-)

We have not done the Holiday Tour. But now you have tempted me. I'll have to look into it. We always go with my parents and my sister's family. I know my parents would LOVE it. Thanks for the tip!!!

i was there last year and i left on the first day of the christmas stuff. i got to see the parade in the day but left for the airport for my 11:50pm flight back to oz at 6pm.. so i completly missed the castle being lit up..

We're going to DLR again this year for Christmas. It's DBF's birthday, so it's a tradition now to go.. Yay! I love it during Christmas time!!!
