Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Hi Loungers! We're already looking at April to coincide with Star Wars Celebration. I have my RoL pins set aside to bring with me. :) We're thinking of trying out the BCV or BWV for flower/garden. Maybe Rivers of Light will be functional! *giggles*

Our landlord just informed us this week that he is selling the property. He's already shown the property last night. DH is looking for employment and we're open to moving out of state. If anyone knows of a reputable company that is seeking graphic designers, please send me a PM. I suppose a view to take is htat we're in a period of literal transition right now.

At least we're not in 4 hour lines at the Frozen ride.... there are worse things.....

I see adventure in your future!

Good luck on all fronts!

OH MY we have almost slipped to page 2, that is not allowed.

I hate being hot, I hate Disney when it's hot, I hate crowds ........ so I never go in the summer (well in about 30 years) other than 2014 when I went twice in August, to drop DD at DCP and back in two weeks for Unleash the Villains. It was grossly hot and horribly crowded with lots of cranky and sometimes mean people. But reading all this about low crowds and not wanting to wait until September .............. I just booked DS and I at AllStarSports for a few nights end of August. We'll be in St. Augustine the whole 10 days prior to Labor Day so why not skip over in the middle. Short drive and with two hotel nights I can do highlights of all the parks in three days ........... some night AK MINUS RUMORS OF LIGHT, new Star Wars Fireworks and thinking about doing Dessert Party, Frozen Ever After Ride and he'll make me do Soarin'. Probably be back in September so he can go to MNSSHP, so what we get done, we get done.

Magical Place on Earth needed, so much sadness happening out there :worried:

Page 2 never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got to keep our dumpsterfire going LOL A thunderstorm or illegal fire works got me up. Good news fireworks times and slightly extended hours for DHS have been posted for our August trip. Sorry I haven't been around as much the weather has been wonderful and I've stepped up pretrip walking and enjoying the pool

Thank you for heads up, will diligently watching for dessert party to open. With three days, two nights .... my schedule will be tight in order to do DHS and AK at night.

Dumpster fire = highlight of my day sometimes. I see many posts that Jungle Book is dead after Labor Day.

Even opinion ROL will start :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

If it really does .......... I smell a dumpster rat, no pixie dust coma here. It's just so weird how there were so many reports of testing etc up until the delay but nothing now. Maybe cause it's good to go? Oh well, will take my Rumors of Light frustration out ........... by ripping out my family room carpet today. They wanted $500 to do it - say what? - I can book a two bedroom condo at Sheraton Vista Resort for a week for that.

Sore muscles here I come :crutches:

Funny you say that. I didn't do anything as extensive as rip up carpet - though I would as opposed to paying $500...or I'd probably find some high schoolers to do it for much less - but I cleaned up my kids' playroom yesterday and talk about sore back and leg muscles! I guess from all the bending over to pick everything up! I ended up having to take ibuprofen and I was still so sore. It's better today but I can still feel it. Kind of crazy.

I feel like every anticipated expense or quote comes down to how far it will take me on my next WDW trip :earboy2:

What resort did you book? Did you get any discounts on it. I have been searching to see what we can book for 2017 lol.
I rented points this time. From my coworker...so a significant discount. Her home resort is SSR so we are booked there again but I'm hoping to switch to WL at 7 months out.

When are you going? When 2017 was released, I booked our summer and fall 2017 trips. We are going late July/first week of August. I had to book the November trip one day at a time, because it was partly more than 499 day out:rolleyes:

New item on the menu! Call me sucker, but I booked it. DS#1 (adult but disabled) LOVES to meet Buzz & Woody but that indoor tight space with kids running all over and screaming .... a nightmare for him and I .... that takes forever, worth every penny. Add he loves TSMM and now can ride it many times, MUST meet characters so add Mickey Minnie and Olaf and loves Star Tours ........ and food is the highlight of his days. Will be worth every penny to enjoy all that with a few of our closest Disney friends.

On the plane back to Seattle after our hot time at DW. Yesterday was our Animal Kingdom day. We actually did not get to the park until late afternoon as my husband and daughter went to Typhoon Lagoon and I had pool time and a massage at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The good - I liked the entertainment they they had scattered around the park. We did the safari around 7:45 and it worked well at that time. The Tree of Life was cool.

The fabulous- Tiffins!! We had the Jungle Book Dinner package and it was one of the best meals in Disney ever. We all got different appetizers and entrees and everything was delicious. You also get a dessert and the $67 price is a great value for the food you receive. I must admit the restaurant seems out of place being inside the park.

The bad- Jungle Book show. I went in with low expectations but it did not even meet those. It was also hot and I had an extremely cranky family who wanted to leave after the first 5 minutes. A lot of people grumbling on the bus about the show.

Oh well, maybe one day Rivers of Light will be a reality

I saw this, and I might have done it if I didn't already have my Aug plans set. We do early EMH, and are already planning on DHS when it opens early. I'd have to change too many things around to do this on a different morning.

Honestly, I'm SO sick of Disney doing SO MUCH last minute. >:(>:(>:(

Lucky me I just decided to go in August end of last week so I had no plans, no ADR, no FP+. Just taking a WDW break in the middle of a beach vacation.

You would think that if they announced sooner they would give folks more time to book ... but then again when I was looking at MK EMM, the dates I looked at were sold out. I kinda think it was supposed to go to Epcot but given the erratic behavior of FEA they changed it up.

I'd also say that I would have been more likely to even TRY to juggle my plans if they included RnR and ToT!

I don't want to brag... but... my family gets cranky when I beat them badly - every time - at TSMM... :rolleyes1

I was trying to come up with a scenario where someone might actually like this version of EMM, and it looks like we've found it! This one tempts me not one iota, but I'm glad it will work well for you and your son. Sounds like a great fit for your situation. :)

Brag on brag on! If DS#2 is with me, no way I come out on top so I have accepted my place. But on Buzz Lightyear it's full out WAR!
